Anybody have an AUW for a 70" Velox? I think mine is coming out rather portly at 9.2 pounds AUW. but that is with a Thunder Power 6S 65C 5000mAH pack..(which weighs 804 grams, or1.77 pounds). But it also has the Hacker A60-5XS in it, so, it should have a ton of power....

My 68" came in at 9lbs 1oz with a Mintor 22. Another 68" came in at 9lbs with a DLE-20, but he had one less servo as I had a dual elevator.

For an electric you could have come in lighter I suppose but that is tracking with the gasser setups.

As long as you have your CG I'm sure you'll be fine. I'm flying with the A50-12L and 5000mah packs, and it flies great. Your motor is only 2 ounces heavier than mine, and your TP packs are probably lighter than mine.

Due to the extreme nature of the Velox I don't know if I'd describe it as floaty, but I never feel like mine is overweight. It will move in slow motion in a harrier, and for looking like such a speed demon that surprises people.

Thanks guys....I think I know of a few ways to lighten it I.E., I am making a cad drawing of a wooden motor box extension to have laser cut, just to see if it would be any lighter...

And yes, I agree...might have just also found myself a new wallpaper....

spcpicard, cool pics! Steve T, my 68" came out at 8.5 lbs. with Reaper 60XL and GensAce 6s-5000mAh so I think you are right on the money weight wise at 9.2 lbs. given you have 2" more wing area. If the 70's are anything like the 68" it can handle 10 lbs. without an issue. Mine is very floaty when you get off the throttle, and quite fast when you crank it up. Still my favorite.

I don't think the 70" will weight more than 1-2 ounces more than 68" Same number of ribs, just 1" more stringer and the additional covering and sheeting. Fuse is the same.
