Ah, finally a Vyper/Slick style cowl (well, almost). Nice.

(I brought my Velox to NJ half hoping I'd crash it and that would justify buying the new one.. didn't quite happen)

You've got to come fly with us at SVF some day. Of course there will be my yellow 70, and I would be really surprised if one or two other guys didn't end up with one sometime soon.
You all still fly evenings over there? If so, perhaps when things cool off. This time of year I prefer mornings and try to finish up when temps get a bit over 100.

Feel free to head east one weekend and fly Rogue with us one Sat morning as well.

Yup, still evenings. Yeah I'd like to do that some time. Preferably when I can combine it with some other reason to be out east.

So I'm going with a A50-12L, which is about 3.5 ounces heavier than the recommended A50-16s.

The Velox manual recommends using a push pull rudder setup for "6s setups." Any insider knowledge/experience on this? I don't want to cut covering in the back and then figure out I should have gone for pull pull.

Yup that's exactly what I was planning to do... but if somebody had already done this specific setup and had a definitive answer it might be a time saver.

I did search the thread for info about the A50-12L a couple times in the past, but I don't remember anybody saying if they moved the servo.

**edit** decided not to be lazy and searched again. Sounds like pull pull is just fine!

I have over 120 flights on the Hacker A50-12L mounted on the 68" Velox.
Placed receiver battery on self in the turtle deck behind the canopy with 6S 4000 -5000 25C packs just in front of the wing tube. Pull-pull for rudder. Using 18X10 APC prop, enough for powering away from hovers. Motor is cool to touch in Arizona after about 6-7 min flights.

Well.... If that full throttle blender from 42,000 feet to 30 feet didn't break it, nothing will. Awesome flying Joe.

BTW.. That had to be the 30cc DLE right?

yep a DLE20
If I put a DLE20 in a plane, I'm sending the motor to Wade so he can tune it for me first.

That's pretty much the power level mine has with the DLE-20, and I love it! I did see two exhaust pipes though, so I'm guessing it has a Pitts-style muffler on it? Sounded a bit throatier too (not as barky as mine). Like!!
