Manfred,
The torpedo is gas propelled. I am using a design by Mike Dory.
I believe it to be the simplest and quite possibly the most reliable to date.
Aren't your fish gas propelled?

Keep up the great work buddy,
Mickm

Hello Mike,

No, my torpedo's are electric, maximum runtime 10 minutes, speed about 12 km/u.
I'am building a set of gastorps for a good friend of mine, he has less room in his sub than i have, the launchsystem will be totally different than the one i use for my torps.

Greetings Manfred.

Hello Mike,

When i start with the launchsystem, i'll post the pictures of the progress, first i have to finish of the massproduction of 6 gastorps, test each one if they run allright, will be a total new learningprocess for me, because mine are electric.
I'll keep you informed.

Greetings Manfred.

It took a while but here is the update about the flakvierling.

This was the situation winter 2008, a simple flak 38 german army issue.

From a friend i've got this picture, so the search for a kriegsmarine style was on.

This are the several stages to make the new frontside after found pictures.

The start to make a new shield on top of the flak, first i made a paper mold for the fit.

Made the drawing on a copper sheet and cut it out with the dremel.

The several stages of the buildup for the new screen, each time after soldering cutting it to size with the dremel.

The first dry fit on top of the base of the flak.

Adding two seats and gunsights, and alteration of the manual controls.

Adding the two side screens and modifying them to the correct size.

The first paintjob, i still had to add the cannons, decided to do that in the last stage.

The endresult side by side with the old model 38 flak.

The completed new set on the tower, in this modification i drive my boat.

I'll start a new building report about the build of my gas torpedo's, because this is an interely new subject, and it will be easier for people to look things after for the build of gastorpedo's and the launchsystem.

Herrmill,

Thanks for the compliment, my goal is to build a sub that is looking good on display, as well a functional model.

I started with the crew, still have to ad more crewmembers, but this is the start.

The crew is loading the supplies for the next mission.

The marder is also getting its maintenance.

A makeshift workbench with tools for the maintenance.

This is still under construction, i want to make a weldingguy and some painters painting the new made welds.

The start to make a crows nest they used for making propaganda movies, it's also removable and connected with little hooks to the deck.

This picture was the inspiration to make a crowsnest.

This pictures were made after the paintingjob and adding a camera crewmember.

The general idea is to use this while standing on display, when i take her out for a drive i can remove everything, it's all made in such a way that i can take it off the boat.
More crewmembers are under construction for the conningtower and the crowsnest i made.

Hello Mike,

The crew is made from 1:35 german tanksoldiers from different brands, i use several kits to rebuild the crew, each one have to be modified for it's own purpose.
Total crewcount will be around 15 men on display, otherwise it's getting to crowdy.

@Seer,

More pictures will follow when i finished up the rest of the crew, still working on the weldingguy and painters, as well the guys on the conningtower.

Thanks everybody for your compliments, gives me the drive to continue with the displaystand
Next pictures will give a view on the progress so far.

One is standing at the stern looking a the crowsnest.

One of the crewmembers is climbing the mast to reach the crowsnest.

Adding the crew to the conningtower.

In the background i've started with the crew on the zwilling gunplatform.

This part gives me the most work, it's slowly progressing, but when it's finished i'll can take it in one piece from the bow, i started with loose components but that proved to be inpracticle.

Greetings Manfred.

Last weekend i finished up the work at the bow, it gave me the oppertunity to practice with the weldinglines made from fishingwire.
That will be the next thing to do at the VIIC, also have to work at the divingplanes and some other little things.
Here a the pics of the latest result at the bow.

I can take it from the boat as one piece, still have to make a vid about dressing the boat up to it's staticdisplay.

Greetings Manfred.
