Your posts have given me the bug to bring my SC back to life! It was my first aleron plane and I chose it for a couple of reasons. One being durable and the other, combat!
Anyhow I live in So Cal as well and desire to start flying more these days as time permits. Mine is very heavy in flight trim but with the lift at Cajon on a medium day it would be epic to fly probably!
As it sits now I would just have to put the electronics back into it and ballance it.
I would be intrested in a new faster airfoil for it due to the one I got with the kit was the slower more lift wing I think.

Whats the weight of your Cheetah? Mine run 45-58oz ready to go. Have loaded them up to 32oz ballast during the Santa Ana winds! We fly with no issues in medium lift. The thin wing option is a 9x7 E374, 8% thick, 63" long. I have both thin and thick wings and there isnt much difference in speed. The main advantage of the thin wing is for those big lift days and the thicker wing for low lift days. Speed is like i said about the same.

The ole SC is nearly finished ready for final assembly. Ailerons are hinged, elevator is relieved at the center for taping maintenance and the new radio is on the way. We are going to go with a white fuselage in place of the dingy yellow one that came with the plane. Only remaining items are to install the radio, glue up the vertical fin, install tail feathers, apply final wing tip striping for visibility. Get it balanced and she's ready to go.

The tail feathers are all finished and mounted up with good ole 3M electrical tape! Such a simple design yet so robust for surviving combat wars. Elevator servo mount and push-rod finished. Wing servo bays are done. Colors and finish selected by the planes owner...EJ

Finally found some time between this one and 3 other builds im doing to get some static shots of the revived Super Cheetah! The new owner, my son is really jazzed. Will be tearing up the slopes next couple weeks.

Thanks! This video isn't this plane but us out having a little fun in some very light lift with a couple other Super Cheetahs. These planes weigh out around 56oz the way we build them. As you can see they do pretty well in light lift. When the boomers come they really hot rod around!

Hey Chip,
Glad you like. It was a bit of work but it turned pretty nice. Thanks again for the airframe. We are going to put a RDS8000 mixer in her for flaperon option just to see if it has any affect landing.

Let me know if you come across anymore SC's in your dealings.

Got a (New In box) Super Cheetah today! A friend will buy my current SuperC and I will get to do this new build. Very, very nice kit. Well preserved and all there, even the instructions. Too cool.

My 20 year old Super Cheetah, still going strong. Gotta love it!

Cut my own foam cores for replacement wing, and covered with regular poster paper from Walmart. All up weight 46oz. Loves strong winds.
