Earl, thanks for posting the video.
8870 rpm on the 2.5....maybe a 9x6 prop?
I had an easy look at mine. Went to take the screws out holding the cylinder down and they weren't there! I removed that ringed exhaust collector rather easily! Got new screws and back together.

I think it was, maybe a 9x5, I forget now for sure. It was only its second tank of fuel, so we weren't pushing it.

2.5 cc SV racing diesel

Here is the SV racing diesel by
Vladimir Sosnovsky
He states the following:

FUEL
10% Castor Oil,
36% Diethil Ether,
54% Kerosene,
1.6-1.8% DII-3 or Ethil Nitrate.
Some little quantity of synthetic can be mix with castor oil.

PROPELLERS
APC 6,5 x 6,5 – APC 7x6 – APC 7x7

Most glow .15’s can handle a 7x6, but a 7x7? This is one very serious diesel.

here is a video clip of when I was running one of my Marz engines with a 8x4 prop and DDD fuel. I had extra castor oil in the fuel. So I think if I had more time on the engine and I ran the fuel without the extra oil in it, I could push 15,000 RPMS with the engine. Our flying club and flying field requires mufflers, so I have to leave the muffler ring on, but without the muffler one could easily gain a extra 1,000 RPMs with the engine.

and here after a little more run time I had it touching 14,000 RPMs.

My new WOHM 10cc radial diesel engine. Wolfgang has made 23 engines so far and this is number 22 of the series.
I think this might be the first engine to make it into the USA. Many thanks to Wolfgang for allowing me to be able to get one.

Earl, that's a fantastic diesel. And a very useable size too.

Reginald, Your WOHM looks really good in red too.

I am figuring out what I can fly mine in. I think they really need the locking lever, as I had the levers come loose a couple of times and the compression screw starts to unscrew on you pretty quickly. That was when I was still figuring out the engine. if you go to run your's you may need some locking levers for the compression screws. Those compression screws will spin right out pretty quick on mine. Even though it has some vibration, it is pretty smooth as the fuel bottle doesn't even jiggle any.

I finally got around to taking photos of the Taifun Zyklon I have. Chances are I'll be parting with it soon. Some fresh fuel freed it and it popped off prime in my hand. I don't think it was used much, maybe only a bench run.

Thusius-Höhne 0,7cc Type G from 1948 made in München-Pasing. Unfortunately it is missing the forced-cooling system. It was announced as : "Aggregatmotor mit Turbo-Gebläsekühlung fur stationaire Anlagen" which of course means Generator with turbo cooling for stationary use. In the German language principal words are written with a capital first letter. I am not entirely sure but it is my opinion that this was another case of avoiding the imposed law by the allies that no aircraft engines were to be produced, just like the Rauch case that I showed in an earlier column. I have included a page from the magnificent Holger Menradt books. Total length of this engine is only 4inch and 3,5inch high. Note the copper screen on the intake. This is a magnificent little jewel of an engine. Bought it from someone in the US a few years ago and for very little money, in fact nobody else made a bid ???? You must have been on vacation all of you lads.

Your Helium and Thusius-Höhne are certainly really unique engines to have. The Thusius-Höhne reminds me of a old little gasoline engine powered 200w AC generator we used when I was in the military years ago. We needed to use the generator from time to time to keep it operating OK, so we used it to power a bread toaster a few times. Toasting bread was sort of a big deal for us being way out in the boonies at the time. If I remember correctly it might have been a little O&R generator.
