We use to use Carl Ziess automatic levels way back when. Very good stuff. I believe they have been bought out by Leica.... Also very good stuff.

jsesere,

The Webra spraybar seems to be broken, flush with the nut.
You'll need a complete NVA for it.....
I've got a spare needle, but that wouldn't help you out....

I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry over this add. You just don’t know how that used engine was previously treated. Doesn’t it just make you shudder when someone says they used pliers or channel locks on the cylinder fins?

And they are trying to sell the engine!

http://cgi.ebay.ca/OK-CUB-049-B-Mode...item43a87332f8

“…the next trick was to change the glow head. Channel locks finally separated the cylinder from the crankcase, but getting the glow head to move stumped me for a while. I finally found a 5/8 box end wrench that would hold onto the glow head. The channel locks marked up the cylinder fins a little, but finally the glow head came loose….”

Apparently, someone paid $20 for it. That's $19.99 more than I'd give.... and that's on a generous day.

Mr Wiz, I don't know about the Webra, but I do know that the so called OS .15D is not an engine that was made by the OS company. The only OS .15D that they made was a twin ball race engine that is lots difference in appearance to that engine. This is what a genuine OS .15D looks like.

yeah that looks suspicious as it doesn't have the vertical "diesel" letters under the exhaust, but it looks like it might be horizontal instead. . The glow engine of that time period had 4 fins on the cylinder sleeve whereas the diesel version had 5 fins. So the cylinder sleeve looks legit, now the head being anodized is interesting, maybe it was done by OS or afterwards by a owner at one time. So maybe OS didn't paint or anodize the cylinder sleeves on the last batch they made. Now after 1960 OS converted the diesel .15 into a glow engine as they wanted to use the ball bearing crank setup for more power. So I suppose someone who had a head and cylinder sleeve for a diesel could convert one back into a diesel.

Here the OS .15D was reviewed in a Magazine years ago:

Does this Valentine guy make reproductions without stating that's what they are?

He has obviously used the crank case from an OS .15 II glow engine (plain bearing) and probably all the bottom end, crankshaft etc. Then made his own cylinder and head stuff. It would be interesting to know whether it has a baffle piston and the clever contra piston arrangement that the genuine one does, or whether he had changed the porting and fitted a flat top piston.

Well OS did use the stronger more heavy duty crankcase to make a more powerful glow engine. You can read Adrian Duncan's review above about it. So one could convert that particular design back to diesel. The smaller weaker bushed .15 would not last ten minutes if you ran it as a diesel.
Ok I missed the fact that Valentine has the engine, so that means he might have anodized the head or made one. I don't know if he would make the cylinder sleeve for it, but he is good and machining stuff though. The problem is Valentine would normally say if it is a reproduction or if me made parts for it. So I don't know.
