Clipclop, youíre lucky to have the Barbini B38. Yes, very powerful for 1cc.

Gluehand, you must have too many engines when you canít recall what you have. Youíre not alone. Iím sure most of us stumble across a forgotten treasure when looking for something else!

Jack, you must be kicking yourself when you think of the 4 engines you let go. I gave away a McCoy .19 RV racing engine years ago, which I wished Iíd kept.

The fixed compression Drone is a motor in a class by itself. (Post #146). I donít think I ever would have figured it out using just ether and oil for fuel.
Nice picture of your Cabin Playboy. How much weight is the Oliver Jaguar hauling up?

JMP, thanks for the info (Post#147) on operating fixed compression diesels. Thatís a very informative and enlightening article. Mixing a special fuel blend to get the rpm and power required, using just ether and oilÖnow I know I never would have had success with that engine. You appear to have a real treasure house of engines. Great pictures.

Thanks patmcc for the info on the Pinocchio and the model engine booklet. Yes, thereís lots of engines shown in there that Iím sure many of us would jump at the chance to get. I always thought the Rivers with itsí needle bearings was neat.

Jim, if I ever get around to it [now where have I heard that before?], Iíll tack my Cox .09 with an 8x4 prop. Not sure how much ether is left in my old fuel, so I wonít be breaking records.

Warren B, Iím sure a lot of us are still waiting to see a one on one close up of your wonderful diesel display. Nice engines.

Olmod, Iím sorry to say my Mills is long gone. I know where, but the widow wonít part with it, or any of the other treasures. Iíll get pictures of broken parts [ETA .15D] that may be repairable, or of use to some one else. I gave one to a friend in Australia who cleaned it up and got it running like new.

Snorks, an ETA thumper, you mean a real work horse. That was quite an engine in its day. Itís hard to imagine only 3 to 4 k rpm flat out. What would the idle have been?
Yes, I know, no throttle, but letís surmise that it had one.

Scrubs, thanks for the link to the valentine diesels. Yes, youíre not the only one who thinks they are little jewels. They come up on EBay now and again, but no bargains. There are a few pictures earlier back showing the Cox .15 diesels. Iím sure most of us would jump at the chance if one were to become available at the old posted prices.

John, I also got rid of my glow engines from the 1950's and 60's in the late 1970's and early 1980's. Some I should have held on too. The Oliver Jaguar 2.5 cc diesel flew a 55 ounces 800 sq. in. Playboy Cabin well in SAM A Texaco. On 14 cc of fuel (home brew) I could get a 7 minute flight turning a carbon fiber 12.5/6 prop at 5,000 rpm. I could get a 15 minute max with no thermals. A couple years back SAM reduced the diesel fuel to 8 cc for A Texaco. So smaller ships now have a big advantage. MVVS 2.5 cc diesels in models around 600 sq. in. dominated the SAM A Texaco event in years past. I went with the larger ship just for fun. Tried the MVVS 2.5 cc and the PAW .15 Texaco engine on the Playboy Cabin but the Oliver Jaguar did better with the large prop required for a max. Olmod, these parts are still around, but being a casting may be difficult to repair. The crank still spins free and straight.

Warren, I think I may have an original 1.3 Mills, but with a different venture.

Jack, your ďOliver Jaguar 2.5 cc diesel flew a 55 ounces 800 sq.Ē That give me an idea of what I might be able to expect with the Lancer. Iíll have to wait until the final weight comes in, but I think Iím on the heavy side. Youíre probably putting out more thrust than the .26 OS FS.

A specialist welder would make an insulating nest for that casting and rebuild with a weld then machine the casting true to the bore and redrill the holes.
i thought you posted it had a broken con rod
some would simply make a patten out of the remains and melt down some old VW engine bits and cast one ect model engineers clubs can help.

My guess is ETA 15 like the one attached (not mine unfortunately).

The Mills with the odd venturi is indeed an original, with a David Banks throttle/tank.

In fact all the Mills are original except the 3.46 and 5 cc which are Aurora.

The Banks throttle works quite well, but don't expect a low idle.
I flew it in a Madcap for a whle, currently displaced bya Schlosser 1.0RC (which REALLY throttles).

The Mills 1.3 will probably go back in Madcap soon as I've discovered a different way of flying it with the Schlosser which will now suit the Mills better too.

I sold most of my engines years ago, the one I miss most was my old ETA 2.5 with the "Star Wars" muffler system... anyone got a pic somewhere?

I have one exactley like warrens pic in post #189. I paid very little for it -about $30 US but i find it has fierce vibration and is a pretty nasty finger biter on the smaller props.

I suppose most of us have one or two of them stashed away....the "projects"...

This is my Frog 250, still as purchased, some years ago. I dismantled it, to check its condition.
The flexible carb needle is missing, and a lug is open, otherwise it appears to be ok and serviceable.
In my eyes one of the good looking old diesels, with some "personality"...

A needle wouldn't be to hard to make (a suitable spring must be found though), but the open lug I feel I'll have to have done by a skilled and trusty person, as I wouldn't take the risk ending up with a lump of alloy...
(advices where to send the crankcase are greatfully received)

Although not topping my list, some day it would be nice to see it in its former pride, hopefully as a "user" at special occasions, not only stashed away in a plastic bag....

I suspect many of us have some exiting "projects" waiting for "their turn"...

Not really, John , My so called collection is quite modest, compared to what I've seen elsewhere, and what's in it, is compiled rather by love than by "E-bayification"....a good "user", worn with some dignity, somehow appeals more to me than a "NIB" one...and the engines that I once "had to" purchase NIB, I wouldn't hesitate to use if needed (with some caution added of course...)

Does anyone have any photos of engine installations for the Letmo MD .6cc with the radial mounting lugs? I thought I saw one with a little vertical ply subfirewall on beam mounts. There's also standoffs, which could be turned from aluminum.

Glue hand- If i were you I'd just make a small aluminium rectangle with two holes drilled in it to match the holes in the lug. Just bolt the plate over the top of the lug when you instal the motor. I have used this repair successfully in the past.
