Hey Tom,

Seems I never get the far north. Every now and then I can see Grand Rapids...

Thanks for the offer, but I'm just making painting bigger than it should be. I've painted several models in the past (I MISS Hobby Poxy!) and they came out great - even if I say so myself. That was back when I didn't know any better. Now I'm all hung-up on mixing, thinning, new "stuff", etc., etc.. Just need to jump-in and do it! On several test pieces of course...

I was just looking for a free vacation, Earl. I didn't say that I was any good at painting. LOL

HA! Well, its monsoon season, 110 sticky-degrees, and I've got whitecaps in the pool! Come on down!

It was 96, here, yesterday. We had white caps on Grand Traverse Bay.

My son lives near you. He says that you don't have humidity. LOL

25% humidity IS sticky to this desert rat!

Wouldn't you know it, yesterday I said that I seldom go as far north as Traverse City. Passed over you early this afternoon! Looks like you're having a GREAT day. A few scattered clouds...

OK, I have been reading this entire thread as I am interested in building the SIG kit, and from 2009 when the build started, to October 8th 2012, you haven't finished it yet? I LOL on this one only because....it was originally done to be a trainer type for guests. You have so far done an excellent job, but I was hoping by now there would be pics of it completed and flown.

The one plane that was squirly, I'll bet it was overpowered, that 71 seems like too much power for it. Reason I am interested in how yours flies is because you mentioned using an OS 52, which is exactly the engine I have on hand.

Thinking of going the Koverall approach with Stixit and dope. Going to use the scheme in the manual and do it in white and red with blue trim.

Question on your manual, your plans say 1987, but does your manual say that some of the plans and what is in the manual dont match due to updates> Trying to see how recent your kit is.

I've had mine in the final stage of finish...fitting the windshield which is a pain the the butt. Now I'm going to remove the covering from the elevator and rudder which is red and white checkerboard and match it to the white with red stripes as with the rest of the plane.
Mine is going to be powered with a Hacker A50-12S outrunner and 5S pack. At this point I have to decide whether to cut a hatch in the right side of the fuse or at the bottom. Incidentally, the plane balances at the CG without the battery pack. Now how did that happen?
It looks pretty good with a Tru Turn spinner and that big APCE prop. This is one of the absolutely must finish this winter. I really need to get this one finished as it has been setting around for 3 years. LOL.

Google "Sig Citabria". There are a number of photos of the plans, some at a pretty high resolution. Should be able to find what you are looking for. I have the Sig Citabria NIB too. I love Citabrias and Decathlons!

Cheers!

Sig Citarbria

Helo everybody,

After one year of building, I am just finishing my Citabria.
It will be with Electro setup with two piece wing.
I make two bottom doors for battery.

Here is the link for build threat at our local Serbian forum.
