NEAT Fair 2009 - Downsville NY 9/17-9/20

Hi Gang
The 10th Annual NEAT Fair website is now open to accept:

Pilot Registration
Friday night Dinner/social Reservations
Volunteer worker sign-ups
Lunch time demonstration applications

This year we have consolidated the pilot registration form to also include the dinner and pre-ordering hats and t-shirts. (Only pre-registered pilots can advance order apparel and only one of each per pilot registration). Also this year, we are instituting a $20.00 flat fee for pilots for 1 or all 4 days (pre-registered, $25.00 at the show for walk-ins). Thursday is still set-up day and the only event scheduled for this day is a late afternoon full-body combat with Easystars) (details on website).

The hats this year are available in a choice three colors (beige, light gray and gold) and are embroidered instead if silk screened. A link to a picture of the graphic is available on the NEAT News page or the registration page. Though the hat/left front chest graphic is finalized, the back of the t-shirt is in flux. It will, however, have the "theme" of what is displayed; a worded retrospect of the last 9 nine years. Those pilots who order apparel will pick them up at the HQ tent with their pilot package when they check in. Additional hats and t-shirts may be purchased at the show from the NEAT store.

As last year you may pay with PAYPAL to neatfair@gmail.com. After registering, you will receive an email telling you how much to send us. You can always send a check to the address provided in the email. Please do not use the PAYPAL email address for correspondence, please use neatfair@optonline.net)

As always, keep the NEAT News page in your favorites for any show updates.

Thanks, and hope to see you there!

I'm with you Jim! All signed up, dinner and volunteer duty included.

Speaking of volunteering, let's see if we can get more non-SEFLI guys to volunteer this year. I think the host club could do with more flying this year

Signed up too! I plan to be there 3-4 days... missed it last year so have to make up for that!

I hope to have my new 1/4 scale Yak-54 conversion completed...
I also plan to bring my CMPro Japanese "Zero" A6M5 ... maybe Mr. Fusco and I can get in a "twin-zero" fly-by or something...
And... I also signed up to volunteer

OH.. almost forgot... I also hope to have my Rutan "Defiant" ready for NEAT... just as long as I do not wreck her during it's maiden-flight (heard CG can be a bit tricky...)

Hey Tom,
Just wondering... any special plans for this being the 10th year anniversay?

Weather here in the N.E. had been horrible to say the least... but at least I'm getting a lot of build time in!

Weather has not been great here on LI either, but we have gotten some flying in.

Right now, the only thing special is the NON-FPV easystar combat and FPV easy star combat on thursday. That ought to be a hoot.

The saturday night slow flyer constest will be a "twist" on the improptu version we had last year. There will be no restrictions on the model size, power or weight.

We have decided on the final artwork for the back of the t-shirt.

Advance t-shirt and hat sales are for pre-reg pilots only. We should have a good stock at the show.... but you never know!

Thanks
Tom

I also want to remind pilots of the advantage of pre-registering:

Pilot fees cheaper than at the show
2 for 1 pilot raffles tickets over walk-ins
Only pre-reg pilots can set up on the flightline before thursday
we treat you better (only kidding! )

Can anyone suggest a favorite motel, preferably one of the closer ones? Any places to avoid?

Thanks,
Daniel

Days inn Liberty, stayed the past couple years, its 25-30 minute drive both ways, descent place overall. Has a micky D, Burger King, wendys, taco hell, pizza hut, and some small places nearby, and Monticello is a bout 5-10 down the road, and they have a little more stuff and walmart.

I myself may camp with my hunny this year, she liked to camp, I dont! LOL
