Since it's your money, I'd go with the second configuration. There's some very nice things there. The first one is just OK. I'd be inclined to go with a 2.4ghz transmitter setup, though.

1. Have you priced the items separately? The savings they quote are only based on their prices for the individual items. You can save $100 or more on the T-Rex price alone by shopping around

Oh, I see you're in the UK. But even here you might still get better prices on individual items, such as http://www.modelhelicopters.co.uk/ac...its_Align.html

2. As Balr14 has said, there's some desirable goodies in the second one, but do you really want them? For instance, the Futaba 401 gyro is reputed to be one of the best, but I'm happy with my Align gyro which comes, with associated digital servo, for half the price of the Futaba 401 without servo.

3. Maybe you'll want a "better" or more-current transmitter. The Futaba 10C 2.4GHz, for example, is available in the UK for about 350 or less.

4. If you haven't already got a transmitter, charger, etc., are you new to heli (or any kind of model) flying? If so, you'll need some expert help to fly a T-Rex 500 or any other kind of ccpm heli.
