Hello All

I just wanted to take a moment to create a thread dedicated to mishaps and crashes of fellow Valley Aero Modelers members. Hopefully there won't be too many of them this year, but at the end of the year it would be nice to have some sort of vote for the best crash or mishap cought on video or film.

Since I have had more than my fair share of mishaps. I'll get things started. This was the maiden flight of my Tango 40 witnessed by to many including my brother who has never seen RC flying before.

Thank You goes to Eric for The great Camera work. Aslo my maiden of the VMAR f4 Phantom. Andy was able to take it up and bring it in at about 50 mph. Me not so much!!

With all respect, the original poster of this thread meant to create a collection to "show off" our member mishaps and not a large collection of general crash photos. So mainly just a little repository of tera firma dents made in NE Wisconsin. Thank you for stopping by and welcome general comments and vistors for any of our club members that photo pics and vids. So I will remove photos posted as general crash photos. Since then I've renamed the title of the forum to indicate a Valley Aero Modeler Crash Collection.

RCGroups is a relatively new home for our club forums. I'm guessing what happened is that Troy posted an interesting topic title that was somewhat general saying "Crashes and Mishaps Collection" and attracted people from around the world. If I understand correctly, our club forum post showed up on the RCG main page and got noticed by a wide audience. Nobody did anything wrong, but it probably surprised a few of our local club members on how popular we can be. Post a few photos of a some Redbull girls at a modeling event and that might get the attention of a few also. (not an invite to do so)

However, another thread could have bean created with the correct intent stated clearly. That thread could have collected whatever posts your club could have contributed.

It seems, to me, unfortunate for those of us who did contribute to the original thread to have almost all of it thrown away.

New or not to RCGroups, I mean really, what was the harm?

You could have handled it better, IMHO.

I would hope that if one of your members should happen to participate in one of the other 2,054 forums here, that they would be treated better.

Those are some sad pictures!!! Landing at 50mph was a blast, kind of like flying a brick!

Jim V, Chris, Jay, do you guy's have some pics to throw on here? I don't think I took any pictures of my "mishaps", but you guy's may have.

I think you handled this well Scott. As one poster noted to Willhaney: way to hijack a thread. I mean four pages of posts in one day. I guess I wouldn't have thought much about it if they had been all his. Too bad feelings got hurt.

Damned if I do, damned if I don't. I think there is a misunderstanding that the thread was meant for club crash photos. There were some suggestions from club members that it was some excessive posting of general crash photos (flooding) that end up muddy the waters. Your welcome to post in one of the other bazillion crash threads in the glow, electric, heli, or sailplane areas. Use the search utility and go nuts. Not worth talking about anymore and not very constructive.
