The new software only allows 1898rpm Higher settings give the message"too fast for proper govorning" Hey, Ill regear. as long as this works well I happy. I have several 550-600 helis with Castle ESCs that need to be govorned...

I selected Outrunner Mode for the PWM setting. This is a CC HV 85 made in November 07 so it should be good

That’s is actually a very good feature as it tells you that you don’t it geared correctly. One tooth larger pinion will probably make the governor work much better.

Don,
Works great on Vista and XP. If you can’t get it to load you need to call CC Tech Support ASAP.

In my opinion........I am sorta disappointed in the new Gov. code. In the older firmware I was able to use set HS Gov. with all my current setups, 10:1 or higher gear ratios. Now all I get is too fast of an HS. I have also noticed that for it to work properly I now need a 7:1 gear ratio. With my current motor fleet. So with a 140, 162, 164 tooth spurs, I need a somewhere in the 20 tooth pinion range.

Some have said it does not sound feasible. My previous experience with 7:1 equaled hot fried lipos. I have spent alot of time in money in motors, pinions, and lipos to find the happy medium of performance and longitivity with my setups. 10:1 ratios were the ticket.

I have even read a reports of the reoccurrence of tail wiggles and partial and full power losses resulting in heli crashes.

I'll be staying with fixed endpoints. One good has come out of this I do like having the ability of raising the LVC voltage.

OK, I put a 10t pinion on my heli with 111t main and was able to put the set rpm headspeed back up to where it was.

I was using 12.333 and could set the headspeed at 2050 with ver 2.0. This was using a 9t pinion and 111t main. Im going to fly it this afternoon hopefully and see how well it works.

With 2 headspeeds selected in ver.2.0 I was very happy with Gov mode, but I have to try the new stuff, right???

Put the new stuff in the 16's CC80 today. Great stuff.

Before I had a tick...tick...tick on the tail, never quite returned to center. So it would work it;s way around until I had to correct with some rudder. Thought it might be the gyro but didn't feel like bothering with it. Who hovers that long anyway?
Now, no more movement. At least as long as I was willing to hover and not fly around.

I use rpm mode and am trying an 8T pinion. It told me my 1750 head speed was too high. I was above the 95% line. Dropped it to 1700 and it liked that. Kind of interested to see how low I can go unitl it complains I'm too low

The new softare worked flawlessly for me. Not a single problem Default Gov Gain and the tail held thru full collective punchouts and vertical tailslides.

I am glad that the "on" beep can be disabled.. When the beep comes it moves the motor a bit. That is the only thing Im going to change.

Good job.

Finally able to test it out. I can audibly hear that the rpm is much more steady now and no more tail issues. Before, in version 2.0, I used gain of 7. This was as high as I could go without having tail issues but it still was not high enough to provide a rpm that was steady as my old Kontronik Jazz 55. Now, just initially setting it up, having the gain at 15; the rpm control is as good as Kontronik and the tail issues are gone completely at all headspeeds. I'm using SET RPM mode with HS settings of 1750, 1900, and 2050. This is on an E620SE with HV85, Neu 1912H/1Y, FP EVO25 10S.
I did notice, like others mentioned, that it now has lower maximum allowable headspeed.
Did anyone else notice the "data logging graph" screen which can be accessed on the tools menu? Wonder how this works?

Think that data logger function is supposed to part of the new Ice series of ESC. Too bad, I just got a HV45. Should have waited on the Ice!

On my Thunderbird 36 I can't find the ability to turn off the beeping. Is this only a Phoenix feature?

Thanks for the update!

Anyone with HV ESC's tried the "outrunner mode" for PWM? I did a basic spool up after dark and it was REAL smooth. I have a Scorp 4025-740. We'll see if the ESC gets any warmer...

I used the Outrunner setting in PWM with the 4025-740 and it was nice.

It says my head speed is to low to be governed ? Even if I set it all the way up to 4000, it still says the same thing ?

I am running a 800 kv motor 10t pinion and a 6S battery. So at 87% efficiency it would have a head speed of 1610 92% of 1702. SO how the heck could it be to low to be gov ? I have set the one gov setting still at 2 even though it says default is 7.

Need to see the rest of the information...mainly motor and gearing information. Bring both that main screen up, and the gearing screen...drag gearing screen over a little and hit "PrtScn" (print screen), then go to MS Paint, paste it, save it, and then post it here.

If your ESC is old enough, it doesn't have the capability of upgrading to the newest software versions because of hardware incompatibility.

If you really want the new software, I understand the you can do the "flat rate" repair with Castle and you'll get a new ESC in exchange for your old one.

Send it in and request an upgrade and that they install the new software for you.

From what I understand, some older hardware versions are not capable of the newest software. There is no upgrade path for them other than replacement. I have an old Phoenix 80 that is like this.
