New Product
Park Zone P-51d Brushless (Gun Fighter)

In my opinion this new Park Zone P-51D Mustang Brushless will be a very BIG HIT as it comes with the Z-FOAM and same Park Zone 480 Brushless that comes with the F4U Corsair and T-28 Trojan.

I have had many belly flop models such as the GWS P-51D Mustang and GWS Japanese ZERO and the flimsy GWS Orange Propellers almost never broke if you allow the model to come in level.

Since I Sold my World Models P-51D 40-EP (49 inch wing span) that sports the GUN FIGHTER paint job I am going to perhaps get this one as it will be a relaxing model to fly with it's Z-FOAM construction.

Unlike the Park Zone "FRANKIE" with the Hollow Wing assembly, you can place a main landing gear to the underside of the wings of this new Park Zone P-51D Mustang BL as those plastic Park Zone landing gear mounts will work perfect!

They are offering this model in three versions, a RTF, BNF and Airframe Only. The RTF is a 27Mhz 3-channel. You need to look for PKZ1880 as this is their BIND-AND-FLY (BNF) version does not come with the 27-Mhz 3-Channel Radio gear! With the BNF version, Hardware included for optional rudder control!!

BNF Version:

BNF Manual:

For those looking for the 3-Channel, 27Mhz version, Yuk!

RTF 27Mhz version Manual:

For those that just like to get the AirFrame Only then, look for PKZ1870

I have seen a fix mentioned by adding landing gear, anyone have more information on this. Does the BNF come with a receiver or battery?

Parkzone Corsair landing gear parts could be adapted. Looks like the BNF has a 1300mah lipo battery for sure and most likely a Spektrum RX.

I agree with Carlos that this should be a great airplane. I ordered the replacement airframe for mine. It will have an AXI 2212-20, TP2100mah lipo and AR6100 rx, no landing gear. Same setup as my Parkzone Frankie.

Awesome!
Not my favorite scheme, but nice to see it in Z-foam finally and brushless.
I'd love to see a "Willit Run" or "Glamorous Glen"

I will be using the Park Zone T-28 Trojan plastic Main Landing Gear Mounts and Wires.

Comes with both! 3-Cell, 1300mAH, Li-POLY and AR500 DSM2 Receiver (2.4Giga-Hertz). Oh, it comes with field charger for the Li-POLY!

Receiver that comes with the BNF version:

If you want a good looking landing gear that is fixed, try the one that comes with the Art tech p-51...i did one on the old PZ p51 with that landing gear and also the 4 blade prop goes in with it...but the four blader will slow down the plane but it sure does looks good. HL sells the parts.

Thanks WeFinance01,

Yes, the ART TECH P-51D Landing gear is super light compared to the Park Zone T-28 Trojan. Yes, for scale 4-Blade propeller looks and operational flight the ART TECH 4-Blade prop + Spinner is a winner at $7.95 plus shipping.

My neighbor saw me flying my cub at the park and, upon being so inspired, went out and is getting this model today. I think he wants me to try to fly it. I'll look if over and if I think it will result in an immediate, massive wreck I'll get somebody better qualified to maiden it. The photos sure look good.

Oh, the day before yesterday I was out flying my cub in the wilderness area by river near our house and two hawks came by. One dive-bombed my cub. I made an aggressive turn towards the second hawk and they flew away. Fun.

What are you going to do for a tail wheel?

It's an interesting upgrade, but I would have preferred to see it use 1800-2200mah 3s lipo packs like the corsair and T-28. Still, the 1300 size seems popular for the small edf jets and some depron planes like the yardbird ones.

Wishing I could fly today, but the wind is not being cooperative at all.

This may be my next plane. I just wish they would make it like the Corsair with the option of landing gear or skid plates. I'm sure it would be easy to mod though.

The ParkZone Corsair also has a tailwheel. If one is going to be sticking on the Corsair mains, they might consider sticking on the Corsair tailwheel too.

I wish they would have made it the same size as the F4U and T28. Instead it is the same size as the old PZ P51. I'm sure it will still be nice, but I really like the size of the other two.

Rob,

As far as the tail wheel, I am just going to install a small dubro tail wheel at the bottom end of the rudder.

3-Cell, 1300mAH Li-POLYs have come a very long way. They have the punch and keeps the model super light. In no way am I going to use anything heavier. I have at least 4 brand new 3-Cell, 1300mAH, 15C, Li-POLYs that the ART TECH P-51D Mustang uses. I bought em on a super sale at Hobby-Lobby a few months ago.

Did they change the ar500 to work with the dx6i tx? I thought I read on Spektrum's website that the ar500 didn't work with the dx6i tx. I wonder if I can now bind the ar500 that came with my Corsair with my new dx6i?

Nevermind, I just noticed it said it is not compatible with the dx6. Minus the i.

The more I look at this plane the more I want it. I can see how this hobby can get expensive quick.

bust out the credit card. Screw the recession. This P51 is what i was hoping Pzone would do. Thanks for sharing this. I've got the pz video playing in the toolbar on repeat with the inspirational music. I can't wait for Santa on this one. But won't the wheels rip off in a grass landing? I've seen that happen to the Corsair.
