Value Hobby Sabre47 ARF

Here's a few shots of my Value Hobby Sabre47 ARF. Planning e-power with Neu 1506/3D/6.7. Will mount with G-10. Looks like the G-10 mount should be about 3.25 inches (8 cm) long. The fuse is exactly 15mm thick.

Got all the servos mounted, but no pushrods or control horns.

Had to re-do tailwheel bracket - I broke the stock unit.

Wondering how its all gonna come together - battery location, etc.

Updated - tail complete. All control horns and rods in the tail.

Made control rods for the ailerons, waiting for glue to dry. Aileron control horns are in. Gonna shower and go watch UFC match tonight at a buddy's. Will get back to work in the morning.

Lots of soldering to do!

No video camera. I don't think anyone got any video at Memphis or Nash either, sorry. Flies nicely though. I should at least update with some in-flight pics, don't even have many of those.

Do you think the Sabre 47 ARF could be modded to keep the battery in the underside leading edge of the wing?

yes for sure, i've done this myself and so have others, it works out well with 3200mAh packs and an 7-8oz outrunner to balance right on. you will need to cut a clearance notch in the fuse so you can get the battery in/out, but thats easy..
On rumples you can see where the battery is, (almost on the LE) with lighter servos ( like 5245) if would balance in the wing

Oh and this ARF is now $119.99 at valuehobby.com

thanks

Here's what I did. It's the 2nd one I've done with this wing, so I know for sure that it'll hold up to what ever you can throw at it.

First, I measured where the pack would sit in the leading edge. I marked this area and then cut it out. Then I put some pieces of 1/4" balsa, tapered to sort of match the wing. Then I used the quick drying Gorilla Glue to glue everything together. You can see where some foamed up outside the 1/16" ply. Can't see it when the battery is in!
