Doc... your new Avatar - is that a x-ray pic of your head, or are you just aging a bit?

One question. What is IR?
IR is internal resistance. The batteries electrical resistance to releasing the stored charge...at the discharge rate specified. At least that's what it is in this lay man's terms.

For what it's worth, don't be afraid to use bigger batteries. 2,200mah is a little on the low side, but if you want it light and don't mind changing packs every 4 minutes or so, that's fine. I'm primarily running 3,200mah 4s packs in mine. It is a little heavier, but I'm very happy with the performance.

3200mah!! I thought I was in wrong thread! :-P I'm getting 2450mah zippys. Did one flight on a borrowed 2200 lipo. Had to add weight for balancing (broke my spinner so had to balance for that weight too). I'd wait for my batteries to arrive, re-balance and fly. If I still need some nose weight, I can move 2814 motor few mm forward. Awesome plane :-)

I thought I was in the wrong thread too. I'm using 4s2500 packs in mine.
Maybe I'll go bigger when I get some more new batteries.

Thanks Daniel! I never considered a pack that large- I will surely reconsider after your post. I see no measurable difference between 2200's and the 2650's I fly. I do prefer the slightly lighter setup, but I'm on the lower side of capabilities compared with this group, so I'm probably not as demanding on my packs.

Cool. I ordered some Zippy 2650's. I had heard good stuff about Glacier and wanted to try 'em, but epbuddy doesn't carry a 4S larger than 2200 and smaller than 3300. I thought 3300 was too large judging by the manual. I think it says 2100-2700 or something like that.

I'm assuming you love it. Worth the money? Why did you go CF?

Thanks danielph. Can I ask what brand you're running? Matter of fact, can any of you guys give some brands and retailers? I don't want to buy junk and it's kinda hard to get an answer over in the battery section for EF 48" specifically. I want to be ready once this bad, snowy weather breaks.

Thanks in advance.
