The reason I ask is that I made the Extra and Edge for G3.5 and they will work with anything newer. I made a bunch of fictional Extreme Flight planes too.

What simulator do you recommend?

After not flying Phoenix much over the summer, I spent a lot of time with it on Saturday. I can't set up any planes like my real ones...except my 3DHS vyper, which I am outgrowing.

I use a G3 which I upgraded to G3.5 for free online. I've flown all the Real Flights and none of them are really very "real." They are too easy, but the mind learns better that way. I use the sim for learning stick movements (which isn't always correct) and helping with my rudder orientation. That and sometimes it's just fun to crash into things on purpose.

You can get a used G3 on Ebay for about $40-50, and with that you have your choice of about 1000 airplanes and about 100 airports from the Knife Edge Swap Pages. If you gotta have the latest, greatest and most spectacular, get the G6 or G7 or whatever the new one is. The G3.5 is just a tool for learning, but it works well enough, and used ones are cheap right now.

Realflight 6 is pretty dang close. I got a chance to fly it and it flies pretty real. Of course, if I had a chance to edit the plane I was flying (SBach) I could have gotten it closer. But for the 10 minutes I spent on 6 it was really good. I actually have 3.5, though, and it works. I played with the CG and thrust line on the 3D Yak and then sped up the physics about 25% and that made it better. Both, however, are still too easy. But anything 3.5 or above is really good and helps a lot with learning new maneuvers.

Thanks. I haven't flown the 48", but my roll rate on my 60" was a little faster. The model is pretty good, but I wish I could fly my plane in real life like that plane.

I also played with the torque, set it to 50 mm, which allowed me to reproduce the pretty closely the harrier torque issue I'm having with the MXS 64". (The issue is lack of experience on my part). I think I will be able to harrier better.

In any event, I'll have my son try the model you uploaded, since he has a 48" Extra, and I'll let you know what he thinks.
