Stryker Take 2
Amazing what a difference a prop can make. Here's the same plane from this video http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1021479 with a 4.5x4.1 APC E prop instead of the 5x3 APC prop.
The rest is the same:
Motor: Ammo 24-33-3500 kv
Battery: Rhino 1750 3S 25C
ESC: Apollo 25 amp
I've managed to up the speed by 10 mph (doppered a couple passes around 83 mph! +/- a couple mph) and also improved the climb rate! But that's kind of unusual because the 4.5x4.1 measures a lower static thrust. Either the faster speed is allowing for better climb or when this prop is in flight it has better thrust.
Oh, and it only added 1 more amp of draw over the 5x3. (27 amps static test vs 26 amps with the 5x3) Overall not bad performance for a Stryker in the "less than 300 watt" category.
Here's the video:

Haha, today, i managed to get my phantom, styker's ducted fun brother to sound like a turbine by taking the cover off and dive bombing. Hopefully ill be able to get a speed reading soon but it look like in the 80+ range.
