Airworld 262 upgrade

Being the resident "Electric Expert" at one of the clubs I frequent I get a lot of requests for help on conversions, builds and "How do I charge this again?" questions.

So he latest is one of the giant scale guys purchased an Airworld 262. It was originally built for Nicads and he wants to upgrade the power system. He also has a second kit that he's debating on how to power. So I brought the plane home and will start looking into the best setup for this plane.

It needs some other work on retracts and some cosmetic details but with a little luck it will be flying in a month or so.

After some delays we got a great setup in the air. Wemo Midi pro's with Arc 36-55-1.5 motors and 6s 5000 mah batts.

Plane flew great on this setup balanced dead on the CG per the instructions at 5.9" back from the leading edge.

If I can get some video on a future flight I'll post that too but for now here is the 262 and it's owner Cal.

I was able to get some video this weekend. She flies pretty well but he ends up landing it pretty fast as the flaps were not built into this plane and it seems to glide forever.

It was clocked by a radar gun at 117 towards the end of the flight.

I have an unstarted kit. Too many projects on the board right now. What retracts are you putting in yours?

The retracts have been mounted.....id have to go look at them again to remember right, maybe its a 105 degree 640RS series and the mains are 630RS series with 1/2" oleo struts.
But....Checkmates bird has 558RS on the nose and 551Rs on the mains
