DYNAM gy48v

ok just got the dynam gy48v today.
on first inspection, it seems very well made.
i have only 2 batteries threw it, but it seems to hold the tail very good.

i have only noticed it slows the servo down, am now trying to figure out why my pitch slider is slower.

i have all my limits correct, so not sure why my tail is slower now.

but i can say for someone just getting in to 450 class helis and looking for a cheap gyro, this is a very solid gyro. holds the tail real solid and if i can figure out how to speed the tail up i will report this info.

i purchased the gyro from helidirect for 36.99 plus shipping

well its more like the slider moves slow.

but i believe i have that fixed now, i turned the delay the wrong way.

im useing the futaba 9650 so i had it in (ds) but had the delay wrong.
still seams a little slower than the futaba gy401 i ran today as well.

but i can honestly say it held just as good as the gy401 and we had some good gust`s of wind today.
i cant say its BETTER than the gy401, but CAN say it held the same. even in throttle pumps the tail didnt move as much as the gy401 did.
so far with today being the only time ive used it, it did rather well.
im very pleased with it and the price being what it is was a good selling point.

i know its hard to try new products, especially in todays market and economy.
but like the g401b someone had to start the test, so i decided on the gy48v it would be me.
i sofar like its abilities and after changeing the delay, i have a tail that moves and holds as it should.

just a report of todays testing.

i have developed a right drift i can not seem to get ried of. my mechanical setup is basicly perfect.

i have new bearings comeing tomorrow to replace all the year old bearings.
i have a vibration, but its very small. it could be just enough to confuse the gyro, but seriously doubt it. the vib`s are not that bad.

the gyro held good yesturday, but i may have gotton a bum gyro.

i will replace the bearings tomorrow and report on my progress.

Sometimes people get hung up on drift. I am not saying that you are one of them. Nor am I saying drift is normal. They are not on quality gyros but predominant in cheaper ones.

There are drifts that you can ride out in normal flight. Fly your heli like you normally do. If it feels natural, you are good. On my flights, the tail hardly stays put. Not because of drift but because of the way I fly.

truely im trying to get the tail solid on hovers and throttle pumps.

saturday the tail was very good, but today it just wants to drift. or more like turn right.
i have started over on the mechanical and ended with the same tail in rate i had yesturday. but the heli drifts right.
it seems the more i try to fix it the worse it gets.

i wish that was all it was.

after the mail run`s and a few batteries, i`ll report back on the drift.

its not just a slight right drift, its more like im giveing it right rudder.

well after some bearing replacements and few batteries, its gotton better.

i will try to boom mount the 9650 so i`ll have some more precise tunning.
i believe if i can get alittle more precise adjustment on the pushrod, this gyro will be a very good cheap alternitive.

so far under flight it holds well, its the hover im trying to diel in.

hi..interesting gyro. I gave the mks293 a go, and that was a mistake. Drifts left, right and centre. This gyro sounds very promising. Have you tried setting the tail up in rate mode first before flying it in HH?

yes i have done the mechanical in rate.
im still getting a right turn, i say turn cause it`s more than a drift. i have just replaced all the bearings in the heli, so its smoother now.
i will do relocation of my tail servo so i can get a finier tunning on the tail.

my servo is now in the stock location on the blade 400. i will boom mount it a see if this helps. which im thinking it will cause you can make smaller adjustments.

Have you flown it outside yet? You saying that the tail drifts inside your house?

had it out last weekend, and it did pretty good, we even had some decent gusts that it held up to.

what im trying to do here is find a cheap gyro for people just getting in to the hobby and they can progress with.
the whole (in house) test thing is simply that. if it works as good as my futaba gy401(which has no drift) in and out of the house for fraction of the price then i can honestly tell someone its worth 37 bucks.
and so far its doing rather well. most of the drift issue`s were some old bearings and setup, which i beleive i have corrected.
