Pics from RDRC Spring Fly-In
What's up guys? I figured I'd post some pics from the RDRC (Home of the Fly-For-Tots) Spring Fly-In today(4/11). It's actually a fly anything event, and boy was there.
I think we actually broke the record for most Parkzone T-28s in the air at once. We actually had 25 total, but one disappeared before the big flight, so we had 24 in the air. It sounded like a swarm of bees. Of course Team JR was being represented by Robert Vess, Larry Lewis, and Jeff Foley. Also the new "Victory Junction" Edge 540 was unveiled. For those who don't know, all proceeds from our Fly-For-Tots event goes to the Victory Junction, which is a camp/theme park for children with chronic medical conditions or serious illnesses who otherwise wouldn't get to enjoy things like that. The "Sopwith Trio" was dazzling everyone with there over powered, huckable Balsa-USA Sopwith Pups. There was about 66 registered pilots, loads of spectators, and we even had a full scale Pitts fly-by! There was also some East R/C Spoiler prototypes rippin' it up! Enjoy... Very nice pics! Thanks for sharing.
Now, please tell us how everyone kept track of their own T-28? I've seen two like planes get mixes up let alone 24 of them. BTW, was it windy for you guys there today? Very windy up here. Frank |

Yeah we actually had 20-30 mph gusts today, which kinda sucked. But it didn't slow us down! Although there was a lot of carnage going on. But the T-28 thing went surprisingly well during the flight. It was the landing in the wind part that people were having trouble with. But although several flipped over, and several lost there canopies. There were none that were considered "casualties"

'Twas a huge time for all. The wind was a-honkin' at 25+ gust, but 6 flight stations were full all day. There was very little carnage, probably no more than if it were a calm day. Good food, lots of great friends, blue skies, warm temps... It doesn't get much better!

Great pics! I had a blast, despite the wind. Thanks for a great event!
Frank, some of us try to put special markings on our T-28's to make them unique in the air but the efforts usually prove to be fruitless. I thought my Zebra stripes on the back were a good idea but couldn't see them once the plane was in the air. The trick is, literally, don't take your eyes off you own airplane!
