Using a Hitech Laser 4 on Parkzone Spit?

Hi there. Relative newb here. I am looking to purchase a rx/tx to replace the stock rx/tx of my parkzone spitfire. Among other things, I want the option to go 4 chan to do a rudder mod as well as have the option to convert to brushless. The standard parkzone rx has a ESC designed for brushed exngines built into it, and I want the option to add my own ESC for a brushless. A local guy offered me the following:
Hitech Laser 4 rx/tx: HIT156721 for $100 (Canadian, just under $100 USD)
First off, will I be able to plug my old parkzone servos into the rx? Second, it this a good choice for doing the type of mods I just described? Last, is that a good deal? I am new to non RTF flying, and thus do not know much about the wide wide world of non-parkzone electronics.

Cheers!

Probably not with the servos, unless they're standard 3 pin connector types.

And yes, the Hitec Laser 4 will serve you for a good ammount of mods. If you want to get a computerized charger, I suggest a Hitec Optic 6 or Hitec Optic 6 Sport.

I use several Lasers, 4 and 6ch. But I don't use the Hitec rx's, as they glitch too much in my area. The Berg 4L is a great rx and almost glitch free, with a mile range and only weighing 5 grams, a lot less than many others.
A new 4ch Laser around here is about $59.00 and the berg $30.00
I pick up good used Lasers here on the forum and ebay for about $25-40.00

This doesn't really sound like a good deal if it's a used radio. A brand new Laser on Horizon Hobbies site is only $119, and that includes 4 servos.
