Anyone have a MRC Desert Thunder?

Or any other twin-motored buggy or stadium truck?

Looking to buy one and cant find any new.

Want to sell it?

Any ideas on new ones out there other than the MRC ones?

Anyway, I am willing to buy one used, if it's all there.
(No radio needed, I have tons).

Post or E-mail me.

John

Re: Anyone have a MRC Desert Thunder?

I have a MRC Thunder King World Scale. In very good condition as well. Was
going to put it on ebay in a couple of weeks.

Re: Anyone have a MRC Desert Thunder?

Is the World Scale larger than 10th scale?
Also,
Do you have any idea what the value of the truck is?
What is your reserve going to be?

Re: Anyone have a MRC Desert Thunder?

Yes, it's about 30% bigger and durable as anything. I will probably have
the reserve set at around $100.

Re: Anyone have a MRC Desert Thunder?

Wow, I wouldn't have thought that was way off base for a price. I guess I
wouldn't begin to tell you how much my Nitro MT Racer, Ofna 9.5 Pro buggy,
Super Nitro Rally, Rush, Baja Bug, RS4 3 Type SS, Savage, Titan, TC3 or my
Kyosho Turbo Inferno are all worth. Hell, I have at least a $1000 in my MT
Racer, or the $700 in the Rush and about $850 in the Baja Bug.

Re: Anyone have a MRC Desert Thunder?

If you want twin motor, how about Tamiya's Wild Dagger (it's a 4x4
truck imagine a Stadium Truck crossed with a monster truck)

You can still get 'em new.... just gotta build 'em yourself!

Re: Anyone have a MRC Desert Thunder?

I had a Wild Dagger, it performed like the classic entry-level Tamiya
cars... poorly.
Also, after a few hop-ups, I was locked into the non-adjustable pinion
choices that
Tamiya gives you.

Thanks anyway.

Your price might be right-on.
I was just looking for a used beater, you-know, something cheap.

Just so you know... Sheldon's hobbies claims to have a few left. New, on
their
ultra-discount area.
Maybe you can set your price against them.

Don't get me wrong.....mine is used a bit, but not beaten up either. I
doubt you can find the 48p gear adaptor or the steering enhancement kit for
it anymore as well. Mine has these hop-ups.

Re: Anyone have a MRC Desert Thunder?

Dude, and when that Picco .26 gets out, I'll have that for my Savage along
with heavy duty clutch shoes and updated Tuned pipe/header. Oh
yeah.....................

Did you ever notice that people just don't realize how much can go into one
of these beasts? They just think that once you buy the kit it's all
over........boy.

Re: Anyone have a MRC Desert Thunder?

Sometimes, I am embarrassed to answer, when people ask:
"So how much do these things cost?"
I will most likely tell them the basic kit price of the one I am driving at
the time.
Not the price of the Loaded T-Maxx or XXX NT.
The tuff one to play-down is the Schumacher Big-6, with the OS .40
fourstroke.
That thing just looks and sounds expensive!

Well, post us some damn pics!!! (at least of the Big-6)

Seriously, I love to see modded R/C cars...

I'll post my mostly stock vehicles when I can afford film and development.

At least I have a scanner!

My digicam is exceedingly cheap, takes horrible pics, but what did I expect?
