OK, thanks for the info, I'll give it a shot as is. It's good to know that this isn't common...but it makes me give a second thought to buying these over the HXT ones. I guess everyone deserves a second chance though.

I think you'll find the construction and assembly of both types are erratic at best. I've seen some awfully weird Hex models too!

Dave,

I'm looking for a Turnigy motor equivalent to an E-Flite park 300. You seem to know alot about HK motors. Maybe you can tell me how to read there numbers?

The Park 300 is a slightly less than 1400 Kv 24-gram motor. The stock Turnigy 2730 1300 generally tests out to about 1250 or so Kv at the same weight, so that's a fairly close match (but will not produce quite as much zip with the same prop). However, even with the lower Kv the Turnigy may well match the Eflite, which is underwound and has a high resistance. The 2730 1500 Kv model should be a closer match, assuming they overestimate the Kv as usual, but I don't know since I haven't bought or tested one.

I suppose it's a question of whether you want to use a bigger prop or have less current draw -- in that case, go with the 1300. If you want about the same power level (or probably higher) with the same prop, go with the 1500.

Hi

This an amazing motor , the slo fly guys use( well not this one , the blue wonder ) it with a 2S300 and 6Oz models to get real slow and it can turn a 9x5, 3S with some efficiency , wow impressive , versatile and cheap ,

It was a late hour, so i forgot to mention that i have termination delta...

Wire is 0,450mm (25AWG) and with insulation 0,513mm (24AWG)

like the ultimate weapon, armed with a 9x5 and one of those new hyperion 2S 450's ( 11A) and a 8/9 Oz ship , depron type mini IFO , was what I had in mind , Im getting together a fly what you bring , sun morning thing outside the scout hall /park for school kids and I need a plane to try the old takeoff , do 10 loops and land in 10 seconds trick , which I dont care if ends in damage as its good to see a nice wreck sometimes

As far as I have been able to test (and stretching to the limits of my theoretical knowledge) there is no difference in torque between Wye/Star and Delta. I use either termination interchangeably, and it's just a question of wire fit, turn target, etc. I don't see any significant empirical proof that one is faster than the other, more efficient than the other, or any such thing. So I interchange them at whim. Occasionally the quirkiness of Delta will bite you in the buns, but mostly it makes no difference.

Just to confuse things...

...the client preferred this motor, which is indeed a Wye!

Tgy 17T 25g ABC Wye Kv 1031 (7907/7.67) Io = 0.36 Rm = 0.281
GWS 1147 RS Rhino 610 2S
4204 rpm @ 7.41v/7.36a
Badcock: 426 grams 15.0 oz/thrust 61.7% Efficient
DriveCalc: 438 grams 15.5 oz/thrust 62.8% Efficient

I never flew either one, so if you're going to give it a shot, go with his preference. At least, that would be my recommendation!
