Question
Tailerons for the 90mm HET F-18

Has anyone changed the elevators of the 90mm Het F18 to tailerons?
I have purchased the 90mm HET-F18, and understand that it does not use tailerons, but can be modified to use tailerons like the real thing. I would like the plane to look as close to the real plane, but I am also concerned if adding tailerons will make it unstable in flight.
If someone has done this please let me know and if there is a construction mod that can be used to convert mine.

Thanks guys.

Great!!! I spoke to Robert from EJF and he told me that it can be done, but I just wanted to see how to do it since the thickness of the original stabs are only 1/8 inch thick. I am not sure how to get a shaft thin enough to connect to the stab, but strong enough to withstand the forces during flight.

Hey Sheppard559

I thought I would not get an answer on this, so thanks alot for responding.
I went ahead and started my own stab build which is about completed, but wish I had seen yours before, because this was not so easy for me. Please tell me what you think of my stab mods. Link - http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1042719

Sheppard, can you give us a couple of more shots of how you connected the stabilizers inside the aircraft and coupled them to the servos? Thanks Frank

Hi Frank,
Here are all the pictures I have of the stab build. Unfortunately they were taken with a camera phone as I was out of town at the start of the build.

Mike,
Thanks for the comment. I was planning to fly it tomorrow but I am having motor problems and wont take the chance until I solve this issue.
