USS Hartford and USS New Orleans bump
Well, as you may have seen in the news, the USS Hartford and the USS New Orleans bumped while transiting the Strait of Hormuz. 15 people suffered minor injuries onboard the USS Hartford. No injuries on the USS New Orleans, but she did spill 25,000 gal of fuel.
There are many articles discussing it (CNN, BBC, etc...) but the most detailed I found was from the Navy: http://www.navytimes.com/news/2009/0...ision_032009w/ Best of luck to both crews. ![]() I felt this was thread worthy... its kind of big news.... |

The Stupid Shall Be Punished is a great submarine blog. They have a lot of good articles, including this topic... There are a lot of comments on it and speculation as to how it happened. Of course its just speculation... but probably some pretty informed opinions as to how it happened. Might be worth a shot...
