Yes, the new ATLAS are made in cooperation with Scorpion. But one needs to be careful in comparisons. The ATLAS are same as the NEW Scorpion Commander II series, which has not yet been released (or is just now). These are generationally very much improved compared to past versions, both in hardware and internal coding...

Thanks David! Do you have US pricing yet for the new 26v SBEC models?

It is not so difficult to disassemble for transportation, only need to take care 6 wing bolts and 2 linkage rods.
Thanks for providing this info and the picture depicting this lying on the ground. I could not transport the model assymbled, and had wonder what would be involved in working with it in it's component form.

Thanks,

Its gonna be the same as the 14 turn motor. Here is a link to the data sheet with dimensions for the ZS40 series motors. You would use the ZS4025 dimensions: http://media.hyperion.hk/dn/zs/ZS40-DIM.pdf

Looks like lenth, excluding x mount and shaft is 58.8mm and the diameter is 49.1mm. An length from the firewall (including x mount) to the back of the prop (where it rests against the prop adapter) is 80.1mm.

I do have one of these left.

Thanks Chris, I'm still tossing around on motors for the Sampson. I really like everything about the Hyperion motor except the collet adaptor. I'm planning on 5S 5000's. Do you carry any other bolt on adaptor motors that might be suitable for this application?

I don't stock any others. The Hacker A50L series motors would probably be a good fit and use a bolt on adapter, but I would have to order it and don't have prop test data to give a perfect fit recommendation with a prop, but I suspect we could find a good fit.

So is a 5S 5000mah 20c battery enough to power the recommended Hyperion ZS4025 16 turn motor if I'm looking for sport aerobatic performance?

Hi maverickma...

On 5S, you would be better off with the Zs4025-14...

Correct. With 17~18" prop depending on the battery voltage performance.
