You are right about the "Slow" part and I too am looking forward to the marriage between the fuselage and the mechanics.

Here is a real electric turbine , it uses a Hacker Eletric Turbine brushless motor

How about a technical description about how this works. Hard to grasp why anyone would spin up a turbine with an electric motor, unless they were out to triple the crash costs???

All I know is at about 4:25 he zooms in and shows the motor and all it is is a Hacker brushless motor that is made to be used in eletric ductfan planes. He used it to drive a turbine gearbox , so I guess it is an eletric conversion maybe using a Vario gearbox I am not sure of all the technical stats, I just like the way the internal fan of the motor makes the heli sound. I think for an electric it sounds more to scale IMO . Thats all I know about it just thought you guys might enjoy the video, didn't mean to get OT sorry.

Very interesting and clever use of off the shelf parts. Thanks for sharing.

To date it is the only way I know of to make an electric bird sound like a turbine w/o spending over $2500.00 on a real turbine. The secret is in the internal fan on the Hacker motor its self , it is what make the turbine sound. Here is the smallest one I've found it will work great on say a 600 and a 8-9 cell pack.http://www.espritmodel.com/index.asp...OD&ProdID=7840 I have no ideal what pinion one would just have to play around with it , but as you can hear in the video it is very cool sounding.
