So, I have been waiting for almost two weeks now for my new rotor head from rc711 and am getting impatient.

I decided that I had to figure out some way to get back in the air so I got creative...tell me if you think this will work. One of the pins broke off my lower rotor head, I have the part of an aluminum rotor head that has the pins (but not the brackets for the links to the swashplate) so I combined the two! I now have a 1/2 plastic, 1/2 aluminum lower rotor head!

The epoxy is setting right now so I will let you know if it works later...I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I just did a quick spin around the bedroom (terrorizing the cat in the process) and my frankenstein rotor head works great!

Difficult to say Mike. But I flew another battery after my comment how happy I was with my flights today (shouldn't have done that

) - broke two feet off the frame ... but the blades still look the same ... (I am thinking about trying to copy Sonny's video with the blades hitting the steel post of a table for a minute ... but my blades would be black, so you see all dents and cracks a lot better than on white ...)
Oh, yes these were phase2, but the harder (cfk reinforced) version ...

Hey guys, what would happen on a CX3 if you extended the tailboom by about 3" ?

How would this affect flight characteristics?

Good Morning everyone. Happy Sunday. Hope you all had a good rest. I am charging batteries for the big day. HC, why would you want to extend the boom on your cx3? I can't really answer your question. Do you have the stock canopy on it? If you extend the boom that much you will more than likely have to relevel your swashplate. The extra mass might help your gyro function better. But, like I said, I don't know. Happy flying all. Lee

Now that cell phone use while driving is outlawed here in Ontario maybe using a cell phone while hunting is next!

Thanks for the tips Lee. I was going through a box of RC 'junk', (I'm sure you all have one or two of these), and I came across a carbon arrow shaft that was left over from something else. On a step two tailboom, there are two holes to fit it in to, a big one and a little one. With a little help from my dremmel tool, I can fit it in to the big hole, I was just wondering what a longer tailboom would do....if it would be good or bad. I may just have to try it.

Flew the big lama last night.....4 meters away, it got all twitchy on me, bring it back in and it's fine. It's either the cold or something related to those 'things' on top of the motors that I cut off. Considering I was flying outside in below zero weather, the motors were very hot. I've decided not to fly this one until my brushless plug and play kit arrives.

My brushless CX3 seems to really not like the cold either

It kinda puts its own 'spin' on things if ya know what I mean

Man, that is cold. brrrr. hehe. If you add weight to the rear of the cog, you are gonna reduce the ff ability of the copter. Let us know what you find out. I am interested. I have an arrow too. hehe. Lee
