It is call transparency film. Used in overhead projectors. Clear, you can use a dry erase marker on it, erasable. Also if you happen to have your old X-rays or know someone in that field...the film works awesome for making thrust nozzles.

I am not sure if you know but old x-rays have some silver content in them worked in a nuke plant for awhile x-raying the welds and piping and we would sell the old developer for the silver content not sure if will bother the new 2.4 but I Think it will play hell with your 72

Never thought about that. Nice catch. Im not using X-ray film, but I have heard others using it. I will have to talk to the guy that I got the idea from.

Sorry guys for a guess a stupid question:

For the nose retract (Sapac), I must be missing something (mentally ). How does the strut stay in but still turn?I noticed the screw has a staple looking thing on it and only goes in so far and doesnt lock the strut in so it can still turn, but what keeps the strut from falling out?

Thanks

i don`t know about this particular set , but normally there`s a wheel collar that keeps it from falling out . Ed

Good question. I dont even remember seeing that wire on the retract. I will have to look. Retract install is the last thing I need to do before ground testing, and maiden flight.... I will let you know what I find.

I looked at it. A small wheel collar may work, not sure though. I will be in a holding pattern until hopefully Mike or Eddie chime in..

The steering arm has a small portion that juts out slightly. The retract portion has a groove that the steering arm just fits into. Slide rod through steering arm, steering arm onto retract trunion in proper position and slide strut up into trunion. Groove keeps steering arm to trunion, set screw in steering arm keeps strut to steering arm. Pretty ingenious. If that's how you spell ingenious.

NOW, there is a small black plastic piece with the canopy/cockpit. I believe this is to help hold the nose portion of cockpit to the fuse and that it mounts up front. Manual photo is difficult to see. Any good pictures out there?

My humble take on belly landing/bungee mods.

4oz cloth in the fuse (2oz would have been sufficient)

6 servo covers providing @45 degrees of flap on a flat surface.

Removable towhook/battery tray
