hate to put a damper on your fun, but according to our lease agreement with the city, only "RADIO CONTROLLED AIRCRAFT" are to be used at quarry.
if you want to fly "u control", you will have to bring it up at the meeting this month, and we can discuss wether we can get the city to agree to it. until that time the use of any non radio controled aircraft or cars or any other vehicle other than radio controlled aircraft cannot be flown or operated at quarry. this of course is in reference to hobby items, not personal vehicles or machinery used for the upkeep of quarry field.
so please refrain from using anything but radio controlled aircraft at quarry.

Not to worry - it's not something I plan on making a habit of - just more of an experiment.

Honestly, I had no idea. I remember having a CL circled mowed a couple of years ago. I guess I can't see how CL is prohibited when RC is allowed.

Here's the aerial video of the field:

What about dropping things? Like water balloons, flour bombs, army dudes on parachutes?

What about rocket powered RC planes?

Jim,
I don't believe there is such a policy in a lease agreement. Doing a quick search in our handbook, there are no related restrictions. Maybe you want to consider discussing it with the other officers offline to get a clear consensus.

This is all based on my memory (good or bad), but the control line circle/heli trimming was put on the back burner due to lack of demand at the time.

after closer examination of the agreement, i found one line in the lease that says we will use the site as radio control and or tethered flight.

my apologies.
let's get dizzy!

I still hav e a Sig Banshee kit in the basement. I could be talked into some CL. I flew that almost all of my teen years. My cousin Derek is on his way back to the World Championships this year.

Yes, we had a CL circle mapped out at the bottom of the hill, just beyond where the entry road turns to the left towards the shed.
