Sanyo CP-1300SCR are here!

Hello All,

I just go my first batch of Sanyo CP-1300SCR cells for sale. These cells are shorter than the 4/5 Sub-C cells such as the N-1250SCR and weigh the same as 800AR cells. They donít have quite the capacity of the 1250, but are a very good replacement for the 800AR.

1300 beside Sub-C 2000

Iím selling these for $5 each plus $5 S&H per order. Price breaks at 50 and 100pc. See http://www.magtechinc.net for more info. The price may come down a bit over the next few months as these cells become easier to get.

CP-1300SCR specs:
Weight: 33g
Diameter: 23mm
Height: 26mm
Capacity at 20A: 1100mah
Measured Internal Resistance: 7.4mOhm

For comparison:

N-800AR specs:
Weight: 32g
Diameter: 17mm
Height: 50mm
Capacity at 20A: 810mah
Measured Internal Resistance: 7.8mOhm

CP-2400SCR specs:
Weight: 58g
Diameter: 23mm
Height: 42mm
Capacity at 20A: 2270mah
Measured Internal Resistance: 5.3mOhm

N-1250SCR specs:
Weight: 40g
Diameter: 23mm
Height: 34mm
Capacity at 20A: 1250mah
Measured Internal Resistance: 6.5mOhm

Hmmm...these cells look like the N600SCR that i have, a couple 10 cell packs. i bet these are way under rated, more so than the 1000SCR. these cost me $2.20 each 1/2 sub c sized.

You are correct. Same size, almost twice the capacity. Sanyo cells used to be under rated, but not any more. They've started rating their cells the same as everyone else.

HMMmmmm, at this physical size you can fit 26 CR1300 cells in the same space as 20 1250SCR cells. The weight of a 26 cell pack is less than 2 ounces more. Oh no, I had better hide the credit card! Here goes another entry in the Flying $$$'s subject!

Any idea what the max current these cells can handle is? I don't think they are a replacement for applications using 1250 SCR's at 70 amp currents.

I am not even sure the new 1700's that are the same size and weight as the 1250SCR's can be used at really high current.

Probably not. They seem to perform a quite a bit better than 800AR's but not at 1250 levels.

I've got 30 CP-1700SCR samples and they look REAL good - higher voltage than 1250's. If the production cells are that good I think they will work fine at 70A.

Wiley, Thought I was the only one that played with the Stubby Cells! 18 of them on an Astro 40 (non FAI) went straight up in a 2 meter ship. Got mine real cheap when the extra packs for the Kraft Chipmunk went on sell. Think it was about 6/7 bucks for a 6 cell pack. They say N-600 SCF though, not AR.
Only have about 30 of them left, a few did die in action...

Glad Sanyo got smart again. Boy, and I just bought the "last 800AR" pack at the local HS...

Ralph,

Thanks for the heads up. The new ones should be great

Dave

Ralph, It seems that these are a super lightweight new technology. How hard can they be pushed? Will they hold up at F5b/d currents of ~100 amps or will they be good at Nimh currents only ~35 amps? Have you run any tests on them yet?
