HET Mig 21 is finally here!

I just got it in mail today., looks amazing. looks like the fuse is all ready to go, only needs little work. Anyone else got theirs?, classic tailerons only. fuse has nice details, double packing on box. thanks to ejf. The setup i have in mind puts out 1100 watts. battery compartment is narrow and can fix 4 cells nicely but would be hard getting higher, also the intake ducts go from both sides of battery compartment. no bays for retracts but there is a manual on how to make them with the wood supplied., but can be installed with some work ofcourse. i'm starting to build it today.,
Here are the first pics.

what motor + fan are you going to use on the Mig-21?
It is Hard to get 1100 watts out of 4 cells though.

I have an Unused 16/20/2. That should be fine with Minifan
on the 4/5S lipo for 800/1000 watts, respectively.

Give us the airframe weight please. I want to keep
this Mig 21 as light as possible.
Thanks.

setup, is already tested and it does provide me 1100 watts.
arc 24-47-1
100amp esc pulls around 84-86amps
4 cell 3850 lipo.,

the trick will be how much of the 1100 will be left after that long blunt walled inlet.

whoa! dont know why that doubled the post on me after edit! lol But figure about 15 percent for just a plain old inlet, so after about 935 you'll know right away how the inlet is working. Keep in mind thats un-shrouded, so you'll also know what kinda FSA they have given it all the way down. Plane looks awesome.

Mine will be here any day now. Ill go with the crazy high 1700-2000 watts. Im looking for a speed demon out of this one. It has the aerodynamics for it. Never seen how the intake looks til just now. Might need to adjust that a bit.
F4 is the nose cone permanently fixed to the intake or do you assemble it? The cone should be double shaped. Meaning a cone in the back also for streamlining. Plus the cross braces shouldnt be so blunt and should be smooth for less turbulence. Hopefully I can fix this. This jet should rock.

Lavochkin, what's the setup you are intending to use?

i need to make it first before flying it., i'm thinking hand launching or a fixed landing gear for first couple of flights. but i have a question i was reading the manual, and it says

"First Flight.
Use a bungee to start the plane. Before start is good to use some up trim. After start level the
plane donít attempt to turn, climb and trim the plane. The mig 21 can be flown very slow with
a high AOT But never make turns with a high angle of attack (nose high position) You risk to
drop a wing."

What is AOT, and this plane is small in wing span, hence hard to see when going or coming., if you dont turn you're done, it can disappear without even noticing.

one thing i feel with het planes, wings need reinforcement. spar is not that great, i have a f4 phantom, the spar gave up and wings clapped after 138mph flight. on approach right 6-7 ft above runway.
