Sounds like a good end to the day!

that motor doesnt have that much compression so it was probably pretty wet. did you flip it with the choke on till it popped then, flip the choke off and try to start it?

Pop ? She never really popped. She just passed gas. No kidding.

Compression seemed really low., I squirted some WD-40 down the plug holes. The compression came up. Fuel was in the carb, and the gas line was full.

She had air. She had gas. She had spark.

I may try again tomorrow.

Did you opened it after the try, Tom? Did the piston and sleeve looks ok? It really looks ackward...

Here what I would do:

1) open the damn engine and check for scratched piston and sleeve or any other compression leak

2) if the inside looks OK, I would start to check the CDI sensor point. Maybe the spark is there but it have wrong timming and it can ruin your day.

3) if all the above don't work, call a priest and exorcize this suer!

Good luck, buddy! You deserve the best

Thanks, Wil.

The compression came up, after I squirted a little oil in the cylinders. Timing seems correct.

My guess is that I didn't get enough gas to the cylinders. I'll choke her well, the next time I try to start her.

Thats pretty good advice across a number of areas

Loving these two builds by the way, you're both doing a beautiful job, its nice to see something other than Aerobats and Warbirds in the scale arena.

Wish I could do a model like this, but it'll have to wait until I pay my loan off and can run a truck to carry it in!

Good work chaps.

Matt

I try to buy my stuff, before I start a build. A little bit here. A little bit there. It disperses the costs, making it more attainable. I usually have most everything I need for a build, before I begin. That way, I'm assured that I can afford to finish it.
