Hi, I have my kd-175 converted to 13.8volt and to the manual fan control: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showp...&postcount=610 [1k and 50k poti] but I think it is the fan does not spin fast enough, what mechanism do I change it to run faster? (Works well dan still the automatic fan speed control?)

What do you mean by "the fan does not spin fast enough"?

If you need the fans to run normally then just omit the 1K resistor from the mod.

How do you get this to work ive connected A1, B1, B6 but the orange warning light comes up and doesn't fully power on.

Grounding pin B2 should cause the fan to slow down.

low to 80% rpm via potentiometer? would be nice

Then just use the external pot without the internal 1k resistor.

I've managed a simple OVP mod for the Dell Poweredge 6650 (ASTN 7000245) PSU that will allow voltage adjustment up to 16V.

This PSU doesn't seem to have a UVP circuit.

The full adjustable voltage range after mod will be from 3V to 16V at 72A.

This will make a great bench PS with these specs.

I will post pics and details later today or tomorrow.

What are the output caps rated for?

The usual 16V. I'll suggest staying below this of course.

The modded 6650 PSU can actually go past 20V . The output caps look easy enough to replace if necessary.

This may be grounds for a 20V mod.

We wouldn't want to bust a cap.

People were busting caps every day of the week where I grew up. One just missed me by a couple of feet while I was in bed sleeping. Then we got the hell out of there. No joke..

Never mind.... Works for about 10 seconds making 12.7V and than it stops...
Not sure how to make it not to stop.
Also the cooling fan goes 100% and pin 2B to ground is not slowing the fan down, not on this model
