Question
CNC router Kit ?

I would like get a CNC router but my budget is quite limited. So I was wondering if there is a reasonable priced kit out there.
I have been searching the internet and found a huge amount of information, it was so much that I got completely lost.

I thankful for any help on finding a good kit or resources to build one myself. Thanks
Marcel

building your own cnc machine from scratch is the cheapest way to go about it. it is actually surprisingly easy. just need some basic printer parts and your on your way.

The only way to do it cheap is to get a set of free plans that use the roller bearing design of rails and threaded rod for leadscrews. Dremel cutter etc. JGRO is one on www.cnczone.com
Look out for some 1- 2A nema 23 size stepper motors on ebay etc, and get the stepper driver board from www.hobbycnc.com.

My own machine is basically that, made from 1" mdf I have been using it non stop now for the past 4yrs, I done a build on CNCzone
http://www.cnczone.com/forums/showth...p?t=2534&pp=15

Loads of software available, everyone has there own preferance, I draw in autocad convert it to gcode with a program called ace, and cut with turbocnc4.
I would say pick the JGRO design as there are loads of threads on CNCzone for help, if you want any further info I would be glad to help out.

Wow, really great to get such a response. Thanks a lot.
I'm probably go with the hobbyCNC kit and design the router myself out of wood.
