New KFm6 "Champion" Wing build started....
After doing the first two wing builds faceting my designs, I have skipped "Sprint". Remember that Sprint will be a 42" wing and the build would have been great, but alas, I needed materials and had to order them. My intention is to build Sprint as a precision wing, so please bare with me and I am certain you will not be disappointed. As you have seen, my designs have flown and flown well. If I doubt my designs in any way, I would not post them here to waste your or my time.
Until then here are the beginnings of Champion, my 60" wing. I do hope you enjoy. ApachePilot Wing designation: Champion Wing span: 60" Motor: E-Flite 370 out-runner Battery,:3S 1800mAh 11.1v ESC: 25A Servos: ParkZone digital removed from Typhoon 2 Materials? Foamboard from Walmart or similar outlet store. Carbon rod and cloth for spars and joining halves from MS-Composites. Wood glue, hot glue and epoxy 5-minute. Strapping tape Tongue depressors for motor mount. Estimated AUW Ready to Fly? around 1 pound.

A few more pics from today, not much done but should have Champion ready for electronics tomorrow evening. I am shooting for a maiden this weekend, weather permitting.

Man thats gonna be a blast! I did a 50 inch profile with no airfoil and it was a blast! Floaty enough to fly on my street.

Well,
I got a little further with Champion today. I finally got it strapped in and started mounting the hardware and motor.. I should have the elevons cut and mounted tomorrow as well as the wing tips... My daughter chose the colors... Pics below... ApachePilot |
