KP, have you come across any WW1 bipe plans? I would like to build a D7 or a SE5A for 049 power.

Dked,

They are difficult to find, but this is a .15-size DVII that you could scale down. It being smaller than a regular size model may be safer to scale down compared to a .40-.61 size.

Here is a .15-size DH-6: http://www.rcmplans.com/index.php?ma...oducts_id=1433

These may be of some help. The plans that are in blue can be traced back to find information. One column shows the magazine date.

Fokker plans: http://www.modelaircraft.org/files/p...fs/f-plans.pdf
S.E.5 plans: http://www.modelaircraft.org/files/p...fs/s-plans.pdf
Nieuport plans: http://www.modelaircraft.org/files/p...fs/n-plans.pdf

I know that some planes can be made with poster board (fiddler's green plans in this case). The Fokker is all foam: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v-ewwNf...eature=channel.

You may be able to contact ZoomZoom-RCU if you need more info: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_8856926/tm.htm

I hope this helps! Maybe others will be willing to chime in?

Yes, there are too many C/L WWI planes/plans out there. What do you think, Dked?

I was thinking of RC, but some C/L planes can be converted. I went to a Fly in locally, and they had a bunch of WW1 birds, they were all larger scale and I thought an .049 size would be pretty neat.

Well, that's a not a bad idea. I think that you can find exactly what you want if you don't mind scaling plans. In that case, there are millions of WWI plans out there!
