i dont want a helmet cam.......and we have a good cam i can mount on a plane......i just want a good camcorder......i also kind of need snowboard goggles.......so i need to sell even more to get those......or i could get a job, but what job really highers a 13 year old? well there is one place nearby, but idk......

BTW youll need a light so the camera isnt always focusing on the light hitting the lens. So pretty much if you want good night videos youll need a real camera..

i think I will pass on something that expensive john........i have been saving some money over the past like 5 years and i dont even have that much..........i would if i hadnt bought a few things, like my belt cp, etc.....but still........thats a lot of money to me anyways.....

yeah I know, but I been using an XL-1 and it takes great video. Im sure you can find a used one for $500 or less...

The light reflecting from other objects will hit your lens, there for causing it to focus on that light.
And the auto focus is sooo slow on the cheep cameras...

youcould just turn autofocus off couldnt you? why would you need a "real" camera? what do you mean by "real camera" anyways?

You cant turn auto focus on a cheap camera, becasue there is no other way to keep your object in focus.
And by "real" I mean a HDV or simply a quality camera that runs off of MiniDV tapes to record.
Do you have a meadia productions type class in your school?
