most common abreviations

POS--!&^%%&%$^%% = piece of sh*t - first thing a new flyer will call his perfectly set up heli --swearing mandatory
qc= quality control
Shill,,,,,,,,,,,,,
A shill is an associate of a person selling goods or services(Helis), who pretends to have no association to the seller/group and assumes the air of an enthusiastic customer. The intention of the shill is, using crowd psychology, to encourage others unaware of the set-up to purchase said goods or services (Helis) or support the group's ideological claims.

wot- wide open throttle
sd = shaft drive
dd- direct drive
vp = variable pitch
cnc--Computerized Numerical Control. It is method utilized to machine precise parts
lipo- lithium polymer battery
fff- fast forward flight
h/s- head speed
lhs- local hobby store
t/r- tail rotor
t/g- training gear
l/g- landing gear
b/h- bell- hiller
rx-reciever
tx- transmitter
ESC-electronic speed controller
cf-carbon fibre
fg-fibre glass
FP- fixed pitch
CP- collective pitch
Bl - Brushless
CoG - Center of gravity
Pita - PAIN IN THE A@@ (the story of these little helis)
NiMh = Nickel Metal Hydride (type of rechargeable battery now commonly used in TXs)

NiCd = Nickel Cadmium (older type of rechargeable battery chemistry)

Gov = Governor, ESC based regulation of headspeed

BEC = Battery Eliminator Circuit (derived as a solution from the practice of utilizing two separate batterys in an aircraft/vehicle, one for running the motors, one for running the radio gear, it "eliminates" the need for a separate battery for the radio gear)

PPM = Pulse-Phase-Modulation, or Pulse-Position-Modulation (conventional radio signal type that many RTF models come with, and many 72/75/27/50mhz radio systems utilize)

PCM = Pulse-Code-Modulation (radio signal type that encodes servo positions with a digital "coded" signal, many 72/75/50mhz radio systems utilize this, but are typically proprietary signals standards per manufacturer)

2.4ghz or SS = Newer generation of radios that do not use "fixed" frequencies per model (ie, co-exist automatically without human frequency organization required). SS standing for Spread Spectrum

Acro = Conventional acrobatics, loops, rolls, stall turns, etc

3D = Acrobatic manuevering flying style that involves significant time inverted

Scale (used as a flight style reference) = Typically milder flight style with smooth "full scale helicopter"-like transitions

Auto (maneuver type) = Landing a helicopter with the motor off (google: autorotation)

Rekit = The catastrophic event of turning our carefully built models into a scattering of parts (ie. crash )

AUW = All-Up-Weight, most often the weight of a model with all components to fly as the manufacturer intended it to installed (ie model + canopy + battery).
eCCPM: Electronic Cyclic Collective Pitch Mixing
mCCPM: Mechanical Cyclic Collective Pitch Mixing
FBL: Fly Bar Less, which can include multi blade rotors.

2S, 3S, 4S, etc. -- Lipo battery configuration indicating the number cells in the pack. An xSxP format is also used to indicate parallel configuration (e.g. 4S2P - two 4S packs in parallel).

OWB -- one-way bearing - makes the main rotor capable of auto-rotation

C in relation to lipos...don't know what it stands for but its an "indication" of the speed the amps can be drawn from the pack: Amps (in A not in mah) x C = Amps the pack can safely supply...eg 400mah 20C.....0.4x20=8Amps

TE Trailing Edge
LE Leading Edge

TBE Toilet Bowl Effect

Nose In, Heli points front to pilot
Tail In, Heli points tail to pilot
Side In, Heli side to pilot

HBFP Honey Bee Fixed Pitch
HBCP Honey Bee Collective Pitch

TF-triflow
CA- Cyanoacrylate aka superglue
l.e.t.= liquid electric tape

And here's a few in reference to people and stores. Not so much abreviations in most cases but may be helpful for newer flyers:

TFJ-Rc Babble! (tri flow joe)!
CJ-Helicrack dealer...Chinesejade...also Terrence
Berthold-Nanoheli
Sketch-Sketchaholic...Rotorfever

Servos:
HSxx or HSxxxx: HS followed by numbers is a Hitec servo. May have MG for metal gear or HB for carbonite gears.
Sxxxx, xxxx, Fxxxx, BLSxxx: Futaba servo. Some Futabas have odd designations.
NES-xxx, DS-xxx DS-xxxx: JR servo.
DSxx-GCB: Hyperion servo, the numbers are the thickness of the case in mm, the letters are the version.
BMS-xxx: Blue Bird. May have MG for metal gear or MAX for hi-torque metal.
HG-xxx, HG-Dxxx: Ino-Lab. D means digital, may have MG or HG as well.
DSxxx: Align digital servo (a bit ambiguous out of context because the abbrev looks like JR)
6X, 9XP: Align analog servo
HDS-xxx: Ashtek digital servo
P-xx: MKS Taiwan
HXTxxx, HXTxxxx: Hextronic
TP-xx: Tower Pro

Heilcopter types:

R30 R50: (nitro) Raptor 30 and 50. One version is called a Raptor 50 Titan in full
E550 E620: (electric) Raptor E550 and E620. There is also a Swift E620
MT, Mini-T: Mini-Titan
Rex: Align T-Rex, usually the 450
SE, SEv2, XL, SA, S: By themselves these are usually the different versions of the T-Rex 450
Walkera helis are flying abbreviations already
HBFP: Esky Honeybee Fixed Pitch
HBCP: Esky Honeybee Collective Pitch
NR3D: Venom Night Ranger 3D (Walkera derived)
EXI 450: Not actually an abbreviation, that's what it's called.
CX, CX2: EFlite Blade CX or CX2 coaxial

4#3 was the first sub micro heli- years before the msr- made by walkera

4#3 was original
4#3b is still about the smallest real heli- now it usually is bought as a double bl
4#3a is same as the B- but plastic parts instead of metal

then they did the 4g3- a cp motor tail heli

then the 4g6- cp and variable pitch tail

now they have the 4#6- fixed pitch like the 4#3b, but with a vp tail

a bit larger than the 4#3b

Flea - a 3A (amp) micro BL ESC with a PWM to PPM converter built in. Takes the PWM signal from a 4in1 used to run brushed motors and converts it into a PPM signal that is then used to drive its' built in brushless 3A ESC. There are two common variations, a "standard" one for main motors and a "fast" one for tail motors

Taco -is the most performed heli move- to bend or mangle in a crash!

common forum abbreviations-
imo- in my opinion
imho - in my humble opinion
iirc- if I remember correctly

pos- piece of sh*t

there are a bunch more

will update as we go

P.S. When I recall more, I'll make a new post so that you don't have to keep re-reviewing this one .
