Happy New Year! No, I did not make any New Year's Resolutions this year. But I do have a vague intent/hope to improve my ratio of repairs and actual flying divided by the amount of time I spend on-line reading about and thinking about flying.

My son and I got some very cold flying in at RCRC on Monday! Christmas was good to us with three new planes, two for him one for me! Planning to be out this weekend with Dusty Crop Hopper to see how he flies! My son is really enjoying his FW-190 with retracts and flying on the 3C 3200 packs made it a bit faster and more stable in the wind.

I was out there on New Year's Day for a couple of flights (and one crash) with my new Su-35. It was really calm so even at 45F it didn't feel too cold. I hope to have her ready to fly again by this weekend.

We didn't get much flying time in this past two weeks with sick kids and wife. I did manage to build a large rolling plane rack that will hopefully reduce the hanger rash on the new additions. I also had to come up with some PVC racks for loading them in the truck to cur down on damage and get more space too. Some how a 6'4' truck bed is now too small for our fleet.

Oh...great...this is just what we need. Hopefully they leave the clubs alone...

Looks like on page 2 in the notice the FAA identifies Model Aircraft and how they should be operated. If you follow the club rules I don't see any way for LEO to have a problem. I doubt our club will get any attention as long as nobody flies across the street into the tennis courts and crashes.

I made it out yesterday, was a bit cold, but we had some good flying. I got my Dusty Crophooper up and had a great three flights. Gear seemed very easy to bend unless my landing was just perfect.

In all seriousness, there have been several crash in the courts, they get pretty PO and call and complain. During a Pattern contest some of the pilots were doing there maneuvers out over the intersection, some pilots like to have their plan way out but we are suppose to keep them within the field.

It looks like the weather is going to cooperate for a re-maiden of my Su-35 Friday (16th) at 1100 if anyone is interested in coming to check it out.

John...It's hard to imagine flying that far away (courts/intersection). It seems like I'd have a tough time seeing my aircraft at that distance.
