You bet it is! You can zip along the grass 1 foot off the deck and never think twice about what your doing! It's extreemly stable and smooth! The only time you get any shaking is when you throttle down and decend straight down. If your in forward flight it seems to just "glide" down smooth as silk, until you pull back on the stick,to level off.

I shot this video with a Mobius held on the front with a number 64 rubber band, and no foam between the top deck and camera. I call it "The Spruce Goose" ! LOL!

did a test flight with parallel 2200 3S lipos (40 degrees out)
flew the fpv rig around easy, 600mW vTx
landed when talking telemetry said 3.5 volts/cell
flight time was 14 minutes
returned 3778 mah into 4400 mah (85%)

happy with that flight time
Tricopter is smooth flying and way easier than my 250 size quads

The 4400 mah setup works well! One of the best changes I made to this Tri was to mount the battery/battery's under the bottom plate,on the C/G! Plus the 3 light ply landing gear legs on the arms, work extremely well (and reduce the overall weight!) Having the heavy battery's mounted under the Tri just makes it that more solid in flight.

It really makes it stable, but I can't take any credit on the idea! I watched a lot of "Flite Test" videos, and David was stating on how having the mass weight under the C/G really made the Tri's fly smooth! Almost all their AV is shot from his Tri! He really get's after it,check this video! He goes after the planes flying combat!

Hey Gator.
Which FPV system are you using ?, I just ordered the Fatshark Teleporter. Your tilt system is very cool.

What is the size of the landing gear used for the Tricopter 2.0, is it a 450 size helicopter landing gear?
How to attach it to the frame: screw, zip tie?

I use 450 size but you could use all the way up to 600. i use blind nuts like the ones on the rest of the body with 4-40 3/8 screw. i have in the past used wood screws and they work fine till you have a big crash and they can tear off.
