Cool video. That is no Champ. You just gotta love the vertical climp, roll rate and extreme landing capabilities ;-)

Hey Nighthawk, most of the time (90%) I'd say it is the brushes. Either they are miss aligned or dirty or wore out. Hardest part is opening up the end bell. You know, the side where the wires are connected to it. Usually there are four or more tabs that are bent over. You have to get under them and pry up to match the ridge (side). The brushes are connected to the wire posts. They should be just off center of each other and touching. And able to spring back in forth. Once this is all just right, you have to feed the shaft through them so they are touching it on both sides.

Roger's edge is freakin beautiful. Hope no damage to the nose or that port wing tip. I loved the video. Especially the joyous laughter at the first take off. But my favorite part was the, "honey, guess what I am buying." I laughed so hard. I understand. Makes ya want one.

Man, those 8,5mm coreless motors will have to wait. I lost a tiny vital part of a BL motor yesterday. It's that little clip on the bottom keeping the housing in place. I may have to take a working BL motor with the same shaft diameter, and slowly pry the clip off.

Speaking of motors. The best motors for any UM(X) are made by a guy in Australia. He has a small company with warehouses across the globe. This company has completly changed my negative opinion on small brushed coreless motors.

Imagine bringing a Champ to the field and overtaking brushless birds

I just got off a live chat with these folks. http://micro-motor-warehouse.com/

They have replacement motors that should be listed on there site tomorrow. I think I'll try one just to see if it's up to what they claim. If all works out well. maybe I'll remotor my complete UM & UMX fleet.

I have just tried their "dark side" motors. Holy crap they deliver performance wise. Put 4 of them in my Alias quad. Usually during loops and rolls, it looses altitude, well not any more

I havn't tried this company or it's motors yet. But, I have a gut feeling I am gonna love them. Can't wait to get some money and try them.
