My 1st spad build. The gnat

Alright decide to put together my 1st spad. So far I have just shy of 50$ into this including a .20 engine.

Here is the tail section, I got as close to the measurements as possible and made my cuts as uniform as possible

Now the wing is different story. This is just a mock wing to see how it would look.

But here it is

UPDATE AS OF TODAY 09 DEC

Alright I finally got my nitro engine in. Got a new wing built. Redid the elevator and control rod. Set all the base trim and throws.

It's 2 peices I put together and didn't go to plan. I would fly it but I think the spar won't hold up since its 2 different lengths. I'm going to reenforce the bottom side of the wing with a piece of balsa.

Still waiting on my engine. That's the biggest problem at the moment

Alright got everything together, set my servos to "close enough". I put my rimfire 370 on it and did a base trim.

Took it out. I didn't give my self enough room to the left and rear. Got it up started to climb toward to left lost it behind a tree and bam.

Broke my prop and garbage wing. But it flew. Now it's time to build the correct wing now.

How much flying time do you have NU? The Gnat is very easy to build, but it is not the best flying plane if you're not used to that type of plane.

A BUHOR would be cool so you can practice touch and go's. My FB has been flying a long time, but he still loves pulling out his trainer and doing round after round after round of touch and go's. He likes seeing how far he can go across the field with just one wheel touching.
