This motor is suggested to power the Ultrafly Ultimate Bipe. The Tower catalog says it has an internal cooling fan to keep temp at 90 degrees at 180 watts. $69.99 price. Anyone using one of these ?

i have a few, using them in helis. They are very good performers but a little light for some of the suggested uses. These motors are high quality motors and you should be very happy. So far all of ultraflys recommendations have been spot on.

with the lightweight hyperion gearbox you'll have a 60g 200 watt capable combo ...nice

Right unto the Ultimate box, there is no less than 4 brushless motor recommendations, the least powerful option in the lot being the C/13/28, then all the way up to the B/18 series.

A more powerful motor requires more powerfull battery too, and that also means more weight (not to mention more $$$)

The C/13/28 is a powerful yet very light motor. It will fly the Ultimate well, although with not as much power that the bigger options. It's an all around versatile motor, with a gearbox, and as such is stick mounted. That means it can be used as is in most any plane using a stick without any modifications whatsoever.

Now given a typical 10C rated (12C bursts) 3s 2100 lipo, the best option for maximum power IMO is the B/12/10. Will give you up to 240-250 watts bursts on that battery with smooth direct drive and a large prop. Motor weighs 65 grams, and of course, the Ultimate box contains everything you need to fix it right to the firewall. It is a little bit more expensive than the C/13/28, but not all that much. (Note : make sure when you order this motor that the aluminum cross mount is included with the motor... a few of them motors were shipped to LHS without it).

My LHS did have the shiny B/12/10 outrunner. I was amazed at how small it is. I don't know if the sales person was aware of those power levels, I sure wasn't. Tower shows it for $74.99 . That might be the ticket.

Does anyone know the weight of the B/12/10 ?
