LYNX 300 DFC Build
LYNX Heli Innovations 300 DFC Build
I built myself a complete LYNX 300 DFC out of all LYNX upgrades they make for the Blade 300X/CFX.
Only thing needed was a stock Blade tail boom and belt. However LYNX does make a stretch kit with longer tail boom, boom supports and belt but I wanted to keep my 300 small like my other 300's.
Here is my complete build album on my FB page with all the build pics
Electronics I used for the build:
FBL System: iKON
Motor: Scorpion 2208-24
Pinion: 13T Slanted
ESC: Castle Talon 35
Governor: Castle Internal
Cyclic Servos: MKS DS480's
Tail Servo: MKS DS95i
Main Blades: LYNX 245mm
Tail Blades: LYNX 47mm
LiPos: Pulse 1350mAh 35C 3s Lipo
Low head speed 3D school yard flight
All the parts laid out
New Protos style canopy for cool new look and more battery room
LYNX's newly designed CF frame with instructions
Went together very smooth. Remember to sand frame if needed and Loctite all screws. I only Loctite one frame side at this point as I take a side off to run and secure my wires.
Super smooth bearings pre-installed into the main bearing blocks
All aluminum tail case, pitch slider, grips, etc...
Servos and S-bus installed and wires ran through the frame (I take pride in my clean builds)
iKON taped, motor and ESC soldered and installed and wires secured
Side frame re-installed and Loctite applied
iKON and ESC programming complete and Ready for a test flight!
LYNX 300 DFC next to my Blade 300 CFX
Test flights success!
The LYNX 300 hanging out with the Blade 300X and CFX
21 flights in total so far with zero tuning. Waiting on the 12-14T pinions to play with different head speeds.
The build went extremely quick and easy and have about 6hrs into the entire build start to finish. All the LYNX parts came nice and tight but I still took each part apart, lubed, and applied Loctite where required. I choose to mount my FBL unit on the bottom electronics tray so I could hide all the wires inside the frame and tucked the ESC up under the battery tray to continue the clean look I was shooting for. More pics and videos will come as I play with different setups etc... This is now my go to 300 and the CFX will be my student trainer and backup machine.

So this is 300CFX with all the Lynx upgrades, a Scorpion motor, castle ESC and MKS servos??
How much was the total for all this including the base frame heli?

I'm sure what ever the cost is owners concern. Looks great and best with it.
Cost is what qwner wants from his bird. Some folks like to do it there way and cost may have no concern at all. Hi performace = cubic dollars !!

This is a 99% LYNX build. I've got some $$ into this build. I don't recommend someone doing what I did but instead converting their stock 300X/CFX over using some of the LYNX parts.
The benefit of the LYNX frame is any servos and motor will fit!

Freaking amazing. That thing must of cost a pretty penny. I haven't bought the 300 CFX Because of its hefty price tag alone. But wow you took it to a different level. What an amazing video as well very inspiring. Nice and smooth.

Chris - what are your thoughts on the MKS DS480 cyclics compared to others for the 300 and 300 CFX? I have over 340 flights on my CFX, but cyclic failure (i.e., motor burning out) has been an absolute PITA, using the DS76's and recently the Spektrum H3020's. I dumped the DS76's in favor of the H3020's, only to have one of those burn out on me (aileron position, not the usual elevator) Saturday. I've spent at least the equivalent of a new 300 CFX on parts just for repairs after these failures.
I tried Hitec HS-5055MG's, but one of those kicked the can at the 11-flight mark.
I see that MKS also has the DS470, which appears identical to the DS480 but with more torque. I think the DS92A+ would be overkill, and be a little too big for the CFX frame?
I'm a stick banger, so I do beat on the things, but I was expecting more than 86 flights from the Spektrums. I'm wondering if Spektrum actually manufactures the DS76's and uses the same motors in both.
