Functional flying wires and radio?

In planning stage of large scale (50% ) vintage design from the late 19 20's. It has a maze of wire rigging that could easily be functional. Shoud I worry about my radio install and possible radio interferance due to the rigging? I'm getting back into RC since the mid 80's and thid is my second LARGE model, this year. However, this one is for my own use and I noted on my earlier effort that 50% means that there's A LOT more room for radio placment/configuration. Am I worrying needlessly? I realize there is a vast difference between today's radios and what I'm more familiar with..
TIA

I really don't think it will be an issue as long as the antenna (or antennae if using multiple receivers) are kept clear of the wires.

My gut tells me there should not be a problem if using a good high quality radio system. Of course testing will tell the true tail.

With the above said.... Spectrum / JR may have a slight advantage with being able to use multiple RX's. There are even LONG extension wires to allow you to get the satellite RX's a long ways away from each other to maximize reception.

I switched from JR to Hitec just recently. No issues with JR except price.

I agree that the 2.4 systems are bar none and have drasticaly reduced interference.

Sullivan also makes a kevlar flying wire that is nonmetalic and is said to not streatch like stainless steel cable.

Perhaps I should have added that the control system will, in all probability be very scale like too, in that all the control cables will be exposed. I'll do some searches for Sullivan kevlar "wires". Anyone ever use Spider Wire for rigging and controls???

if your using the proper flat sectioned flying wires without play in the hardware you will be fine.

So, if I use round music wire and flexible cable , 1/2 the diameter as per the real aircraft, my radio won't work?

The design I'm working on has the pilot stting outside in the elements. At half scale, modeled on myself (average build, 5'-11, fat head, etc.), that's a huge pilot figure! I was thinking his foam torso could be made quite cavernous', for batteries and servos (ballast forward!). Operating scale controls with a "robot pilot' arm and legs would be quite feasable, I'm thinking.

Having servo move one/both legs on functioning rudder bar seems doable. However getting side to side movement of stick/ailerons has not revealed itself to me ...yet.

Anyone know who makes functionng scale like turnbuckles?

Both of the following links make very nice turnbuckles and other accessories. I use products from both.

Now,now Packard, settle down....My 1/3 scale Sopwith pup has 86feet of cable on it.-and I still fly 72 MHZ. Zenoah G-62,and a belt reduction drive system, brass bushings in plastic wheels on steel axles.

It is NOT an accident waiting to happen.

Go have yourself a ball.

DuBro has turn buckles also.

just having a bit of fun Earl. Wasn't trying to ruffle any feathers. Just thought the flat vs round wire implication a bit funny. LOL

Besides, I did use "emoticons".

I know...lol.

It hasn't been an issue for some time now, has interference.

I think that once we learn to fly better, we have a lot less "radio" problems.

That was meant to be humorous. Haven't crashed in years myself so maybe a little bit of both for me.
