I visited the development warehouse recently and picked my Porta-Quad V2 (this is the 300size 6" prop version).
haven't received my equipment from hobbyking yet, but i have made a video guide on how to build the frame.
its well worth a look, this design has some great features and flies very stable.

Having scarfed parts from my original full size quadcopter, the Walkera X350 (long ago), I'd say there might be a possibility, but generally you'll end up with a Frankenbird with odd component placement, as the consumer-ready quads generally all have custom parts all soldered together and aren't really made to be reused and reconfigured.

I'm unable to find specs on your particular model, particularly the amp rating of the ESCs, and the motor KV. What batteries does it have (i.e.1S, 2S, 3S?) The key issue is how much thrust the motors generate--300grams per motor is about the minimum you'd want for a mini-quad.

For minis with 5" props, you need higher KV motors (2300KV is standard). The ESCs generally need to be 12A. If your quad has something similar, it might be possible.

But you'll probably have more fun building it with some new parts.

You know, motors ESC, FC board, that kind of stuff.
I have several 200 qx copters,
One I made into a FPV quad using this:

http://www.rc-drones.com/Phoenix-Fli...ame_p_820.html

One I made into a 3D quad like this (see pic)

Using Woodsturning PC frame:

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showt...36987&page=120

Which he doesn't make any more!

So I want another frame for the third that is stronger than the stock frame.
That I use to tear around the sky doing flips and stuff!

vrex, at a guess, I'd say the frame is too heavy for the gear you are talking about. Maybe if you just used the top plate with the folding arms though that might be light enough.

Check out my video of this frame

It's the cheapest ZMR250 I could find that was still carbon fiber. I've modified it to have shorter arms too.
