What are normally considered winter months are all "snowbird season" here and motel/hotel rates tend to be higher. (traffic is a lot heavier too)
If you are going to bring the family as in family vacation you might want to consider one on one of the nearby beaches to keep the rest of the group happy.

If you want to run with us, schedule it so you are here on the 2nd or 4th Sunday of the month as those are the official club run days. Both Chris and myself are pretty good about trying to accomodate an out of towner that happens to be here on an off weekend but for the club effect ,the 2nd and 4th Sunday's of each month have the bigger gatherings of boaters/racers.

http://www.wfmbc.com/WFMBC/Events.html I try to keep the planned schedule posted here.

Boat looks pretty good. I have a Sprint cat that will turn at WOT on a dime but I was never fond of how the boat looked. I am thinking about one of these Cheetah hulls for a winter build but I am planning to run a single Neu 1527 1Y on 6s2p. I am hoping that if I just let off the throttle for a split second before the turns that the hull will settle in and turn on a dime.

Ray built pretty much the same setup as you are planning a couple months back. You might want to check his thread. Couple of pretty neat innovations in there. http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1621400

Today wasn't a good day for testing the CNC props. It was really windy. I ran it anyway but it topped out around 56 right before getting "aerobatic" on the front straight. After recovering I ran it a lot easier than normal to pull the packs down some more. (and flipped it again before it was over with).
Video is over in our WFMBC news thread.

Edit: coudn't have a page with no graphics.

Time to move this one back up to a findable level. This was a 6s run in more chop than I should have been running that speed in.
Caught some serious air on lap 4 that put some stress cracks in the hatch from the landing. Guess it's time to drag out the carbon fiber and firm it up a little.

Fine build man. That thing hauls out.

What programming do you use on the esc's and are the motors Y or D winds?

Thanks.
I'm running the T180's in it at the 11 degree setting (don't remember if it's 11.25 or 11.75 and I'm too lazy to look for the ESC spec sheet)
I haven't been able to find specs on the HET motors as far as the type of wind, but considering the timing and no overheat issues would guess they are of the Y variety.

Actually I have contacted HET and most of their motors are D winds and prefer low timing but, twins can get away with different settings.

The HET motors I've seen first hand are very solid performers.

The Chinese motor makers prefer building D winds it seems because it simplifies the windings. With D winds, no soldering is required to terminate the windings inside the can like Y winds and decreases a failure point.

Good to know. I'll back the timing down to the 3.75 mark and see how it works. Thanks.
