Build Log
Started the Hartman Douglas Greg aka (VICKI ELLEN)

While in the basement working on the Weyforce tonight I was looking at the Greg sitting over on the table . I told myself I would not start it until the Weyforce was done. Oh well so much for that, after working on cleaning up the top of the hull, and the houser holes I looked at the rear and decided to drill a small hole in for the prop tube that went good and it is now in! Time flew by wow I started around 8:30 and then looked at the clock and it was past midnight time does fly when you enjoy yourself. The kit I got from Don at Loyalhanna is really great, number 613 with the gel coat really nice hull no pin holes and very SMOOTH this will be a good and fun build. I will post pictures once I figure out how to.

Ohhh, not again... that's how it starts, wandering eyes wander over to that other sexy kit, pretty soon half a dozen unfinished kits are laying around...

Ya! You hate it my eye. If I had the space I'd have at least five boats going at the same time. Now that's multitasking. Pete

Hang on to that Athearn Blue Box kit, Athearn announced their not going to make them anymore. Prices are sure to go up. Of course, they made a few million. Nice looking projects Crowman17.

crowman,
I wouldn't put the lead shot in the hull permanently unless you just like it that way!
It makes the boat heavy to just move around at home and it is very hard on the hull during transporting around in the car against the boat stand.
Keep the weight removable like in bags or pvc pipes or what ever!

Just something to think about!
Jeff

Marc,

You are going to really enjoy this build! # 613? Mine was #639 (last of Dwights original D.G.'s) anyway... The gellcoat hull is probably stronger than the one I have, but as Jeff said putting in permanent weight will make transporting it a bit of an issue. food for thought.. Harry

Harry, mine is numbered 613 I think it is Loyalhanna's new system of where they were going to start. Jeff good point I will not put lead shot in the rear, but I do like the packs you made up Harry to position the weight very nice.

Nice to see someone else with a new build. I received a Douglas Greg hull in Sept. #614.
It's been a slow start for me, but now that there isn't a lot of fall clean up still to do it's time to get going on this build. Looking forward to your build photo's
Doug

I'm thinking of 1/16 plywood and cover it with Z-Poxy finishing resin.
