Clarification please

Jim's and Amy.

I see the following appeal was successful. I’m not particularly fussed about the original reasons, content, what was said about whom etc. but I’m curious about the ruling.

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1736363

Valanti256 originally sought clarification in SSC to ensure a banned member was fair game and was told that was correct. Valanti256 went to the thread in question and posted what he wanted about me (all good his choice) however, he also went on to group attack others as well for which he was pointed. He chose to edit the post removing the group attack 10 days or so later at which time I was no longer on my ban and was again an active member. In this edit he not only removed the “group attack" he also took the opportunity to embellish his attack on me adding the following.

"Too bad it's only temporary. He was just here to SPIN and PROMOTE".

My Questions: Once a post is made about a banned member, is the OP of that post free to edit and embellish that post at any time? Does an edit re-set the content to the date of the edit or is it considered to have been posted at its original date of posting regardless of subsequent edits?

Last question: The original topic was about a new airframe that rapidly became a topic about who copied whose colour scheme. Valanti256 clearly states in his appeal:

“This post was about a Banned User and should not be a rule violation”.

Valanti256 posted half a dozen times in the original thread and the actual topic of the airframe is not mentioned once but I seem to have been the topic of discussion.

Is it therefore alright to go off topic if someone chooses to comment on a banned user that was involved in the discussion? Isn't the topic of the thread the original topic?

Regards. Mark

Sorry to bring this up after 105 days but I was curious as to what the outcome was.

Valanti256 clearly abused me on a personal level, as he has done many times to a lesser degree.

As stated his first personal attack protected under the banned user rule was then edited after I had served my ban to include the following:

"Too bad it's only temporary. He was just here to SPIN and PROMOTE".

Surely that's a statement designed at least to provoke.

I spin nothing and promote nothing. I post and have an opinion. As such, as per my original question, once a post has been written to trash a temp banned user can this post be edited even after that user is returned from the temporary ban and the trashing elaborated on?
